Noruega: posibilidad de un asesinato por honor?

Honor murders… again : Freedom:

“The police and the Kristiansand court think a 59 year old might commit honor murder if he’s released from custody. The man is suspected of having sex with his two minor daughters for several years (Note: it should say he has been raping his daughters for several years). After the attacks were reported, he threatened to kill his children. As a result one of the daughter has been housed in a secret address for fear of threats and reprisals from the father. Both girls say they fear their father will kill them if he gets out.”

One of the daughters was told by close relatives to forget what happened or she’ll be killed.

The 59 year old was arrested in February. The man is also suspect of obstructing the investigation by threatening to kill one of the daughter and two witness if they spoke to the police. Two of the sons in the family, brothers to the alleged victims, are suspected and have been arrested for having helped their father with obstructing the investigation.

The father, a Kurd, denies the allegations. He told police that he’s a Muslim and that he neither hit nor attacked his daughters. He says the girls must be saying that he did because he didn’t allow one of them to get married to the person she wanted, or that somebody else attacked them.

La policía y el tribunal de Kristiansand piensan que un hombre de 59 años puede cometer asesinato por honor si es liberado de custodia.Se sospecha que el hombre ha estado manteniendo relaciones sexuales con sus hijas durante años (Como digo arriba, debería decir ha estado violando) a sus hijas durante varios años. Después de que se denunciaran los ataques, amenazó con matar a sus hijas. Como resultado, una de las hijas ha sido recluida en una dirección secreta por temor a las amenazas de su padre. Ambas chicas temen que su padre las mate si sale en libertad.

A una de las hijas unos parientes cercanos le dijeron que se olvidara de lo que había pasado o sería asesinada.
El hombre de 59 años fue arrestado en febrero. El hombre es también sospechoso de obstruir la investigación amenazando con matar a una de las hijas y a dos testigos si hablaban con la policía. Dos de los hijos de la familia, hermanos de las presuntas víctimas, son sospechosos y han sido arrestados de haber ayudado a su padre a obstruir la investigación.
El padre, un kurdo, niega las alegaciones. DIjo a la policía que él es musulmán y que ni ha pegado ni atacado a sus hijas. Dice que las chicas deben haber dicho porque no dejó a una de ellas casarse con la persona que ellas querían, o que otro alguien las atacó.

Esta noticia es de hace varias semanas pero me pareció relevante reproducirla. Veremos si se acaba probando que pasó lo que las hijas dicen. Aunque mucho me temo que así será.

“A Muslim woman pleaded guilty Friday to third-degree murder for killing her bigamist husband in August, hours before he was to leave for Morocco to visit his new, second wife.

Myra Morton, 48, was upset about the marriage and her husband’s plans to have children with the younger woman, authorities say. She admitted shooting her husband Jereleigh Morton, 47, twice in the head while he slept, and initially blamed an intruder.

She faces from five to 20 years in prison when she is sentenced, defense lawyer Brian McMonagle said.

‘I don’t think there’s any question in anybody’s mind that the act was intentional,’ McMonagle said. ‘We have always maintained that it was based on a lot of passion, and it was caused by the emotional turmoil that she was going through.’

The Mortons converted to Islam about 20 years ago. Jereleigh Morton met his second wife, 37-year-old Zahra Toural, last year on the Internet, prosecutors said. Myra Morton traveled to Morocco to meet Toural and bless the marriage, but police say she grew to resent the arrangement.”

Una mujer musulmana se confesó culpable de asesinato en tercer grado por asesinas a su marido bígamo en agosto, horas antes de que él viajara a Marruecos para visitar a su nueva y segunda mujer.

Myra Morton, de 48 años, estaba triste por su matrimonio y por los planes de su marido de tener hijos con una mujer más joven, han dicho las autoridades. Admitió que disparó a su marido Jereleigh Morton, de 47 años, dos veces mientras dormía y que inicialmente echó la culpa a un intruso.
Se enfrenta a entre 5 y 20 años de cárcel cuando sea sentenciada, según dijo su abogado defensor Brian McMonagle.
“No creo que nadie cuestione que el acto fue intencionado”, dijo McMonagle. “Siempre hemos mantenido que fue basado en la mucha pasión (de la acusada) y que fue causado por la confusión emocional por la que estaba pasando”.
Los Mortons se convirtieron al Islam hace 20 años. Jereleigh Morton se encontró con su segunda mujer, Zahra Toural de 37 años, el año pasado en internet, dijeron los fiscales. Myra Morton reveló que ella había viajado a Marruevos para conocer a Toural y bendecir el matrimonio pero la policía dice que acabó teniendo odio a ese matrimonio. 

Dice que se convirtieron al islam hace la friolera de 20 AÑOS. ¿Y ahora se da cuenta de que el Islam permite la poligamia? Hay gente que es claramente de efecto retardado…

La Junta birmana secuestra la ayuda internacional para las víctimas del ciclón

“The World Food Programme has halted aid shipments to Burma after the contents of its first delivery were impounded on arrival in the military-ruled country.
The UN body says the Burmese government seized aid material flown in to help victims of Cyclone Nargis, which has killed tens of thousands.
The WFP said it had no choice but to halt aid until the matter was resolved.
Burma’s ruling generals have faced mounting criticism over their handling of the crisis.
The UN fears more than 1.5 million people have been affected by the cyclone, with tens of thousands made homeless and vulnerable to disease.
Burmese state media say 22,980 people were killed, but there are fears the figure could rise to 100,000.
Hundreds of thousands of people have no food, water or shelter. International aid agencies on the ground say they have reached only 10% of those that need help.
Despite this, Burma’s foreign ministry issued a statement on Friday saying it was not ready to allow foreign aid workers to enter the country.
The junta said it was happy to accept aid, but insisted it would control the distribution itself.”

El Programa Mundial de Alimentos ha suspendido los cargamentos de ayuda humanitaria a Birmana despué de que los contenidos de su primer envío fueron secuestrados según llegaron al país regido por los militares.

El organismo de la ONU dice que el gobierno secuestró el material de ayuda que se había mandado para ayudar a las víctimas del Ciclón Nargis, que ha matado a cientos de miles.
El Programa Mundial de Alimentos dijo que no tenía más opciones que parar toda ayuda hasta que la cuestión se hubiera resuelto.
Los generales gobernantes de Birmania se han encontrado con una crítica generalizada y creciente sobre su forma de encarar la crisis. 
La ONU teme que más de un millón y medio de personas han quedado afectadas por el ciclón, que además ha causado que decenas de miles se queden sin casa y pudiendo ser vulnerables a las enfermedades.
Los medios estatales birmanos dicen que 22.980 personas murieron, pero que se teme que puedan ser hasta 100.000.
Cientos de miles de personas no tienen comida, agua o cobijo. Las agencias internacionales de ayuda allí dicen que sólo han llegado al 10% de los que necesitan ayuda.
A pesar de todo ello, el ministro de exteriores de Birmania realizó una declaración el viernes en la que decía que no estaba listo para permitir que los trabajadores de ayuda humanitaria entraran en el país.
La junta dijo que estaba contenta de recibir ayuda, pero insistió en que controlaría la distribución por sí misma.
Como ya escribí aquí, la página web Tropical Storm Risk había anunciado la llegado del Ciclón pero no se hizo nada. Claro que teniendo en cuenta lo que ha hecho la Junta birmana tampoco creo que pudieran haber hecho mucho.
Outbreaks of cholera and malaria are also being reported in the delta region, where the cyclone created all the conditions for epidemics.

“Most of the area is covered by dirty water,” said Osamu Kunii. “There are a lot of dead bodies and the people there have very poor access—sometimes no access—to clean drinking water or food.”

One Rangoon source said: “It is very difficult to bury the dead because everywhere is flooded. We needed expert relief workers.”

“Tanto el cólera como la malaria están empezando a aparecer en la región del delta, donde el ciclón ha creado todas las condiciones para una epidemia.

Paquistán: queman un colegio femenino

“Peshawar – A high school for girls in Pakistan’s north-west Swat district was largely destroyed after militants set it ablaze in an overnight raid, police and officials said on Sunday.
Around 50 rebels entered the school in the conflict-hit Charbagh area, located some 150 kilometres from the city of Peshawar, shortly after Saturday’s midnight and used petrol bombs to destroy the library and nine other rooms in the building, the police said.
‘The masked men directed me to remove all the copies of Koran (the holy book of Islamic religion) and then set the school on fire,’ a watchman, Toti Gul, told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa.”
The militants also planted homemade bombs in the school’s science laboratory; however, they did not go off and were later defused by a bomb disposal squad, the watchman said.
A number of attacks on girls’ schools have been reported in the past and these were believed to be carried out by pro-Taliban fighters commanded by a local radical cleric, Maulana Fazlullah.
‘The militants were bold enough to stay at the school for at least 20 minutes to see the building burn out,’ Gul said.
Jihadists have also killed a man for not praying according to the Coran.

Un colegio superior para chicas en el distrito de Swat en el noroeste de Paquistán fue en su mayor parte destruido cuando militantes (¿militaban en un equipo de fútbol? ¿En el grupo de ganchillo del barrio? o ¿eran terroristas?) lo prendió fuego en un ataque nocturno, según dijeron la policía y los funcionarios el domingo. 
Alrededor de 50 rebeldes entraron en el colegio situado en la conflictiva área de Charbagh, localizada a 50 kilómetros de la ciudad de Peshawar, un poco después de la medianoche del sábado y usaron bombas de petróleo para destrozar la biblioteca y otras 9 habitaciones del edificio, según la policía.
“Los hombres enmascarados me dijeron que retirase todas las copas del Corán y después prendieron fuego al coledio”, dijo Toti Gul, un curioso, a Deustche Presse-Agentur dpa.
Los militantes también pusieron bombas caseras en el laboratorio de ciencias del colegio, pero estas no estallaron y el escuadrón de explosivos de la policía realizó su explosión controlada, según dijo el curioso.
Ya se ha informado en el pasado de ataques a colegios de chicas y estos se cree que fueron realizados por luchadores pro-talibanes dirigidos por un clérigo local radical, Maulana Fazlullah.
“Los militantes fueron tan brutos que se quedaron durante al menos 20 minutos para ver cómo se quemaba el edificio”, añadió Gul.
