Libya: Rebel Commander says AQ jihadists are helping them

Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi’s regime.

In an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Mr al-Hasidi admitted that he had recruited “around 25” men from the Derna area in eastern Libya to fight against coalition troops in Iraq. Some of them, he said, are “today are on the front lines in Adjabiya”.

Mr al-Hasidi insisted his fighters “are patriots and good Muslims, not terrorists,” but added that the “members of al-Qaeda are also good Muslims and are fighting against the invader”.

So good, yeah. There is nothing democratic in these “revolutions”. Whatever our politicians and journalists keep telling us… 😩

Haha, welcome to the blog, Uilenspiegel. Yeah, well, I think they don’t know what they are doing. They have heard that some people in these countries are demonstrating for democracy (as it’s the case) and they think that everybody who is against the dictators in the are are also freedom-lovers. That’s not true, but as they don’t use the brains, they have fallen into a trap, I think.
There are two problems now: firstly, what consequences this help is going to have in those countries and secondly, how are we going to react to it.

Wow, of course, my ortography mistake is the most important thing in this piece of news, specially when English is not my mother tongue and I don’t have much time to comment on the news, these days.
      Anyway, thanks for commenting…
