Starting in 2006, the Malaysian-based Islamic Fashion Festival carries the slogan “Discover the Beauty of Modesty” and aims to “take an innovative spin on the conventional fashion exhibition to boldly present Islamic culture and attire on an international platform,” It offers such features as “Hijab Fashion” and “Abaya Fashion.” The IFF has staged events in Kuala Lumpur, Abu Dhabi, Astana, Dubai, Jakarta, Monte Carlo, New York, Singapore and Bandung. Next month, the show will be brought to London.
According to Malaysian National News Agency, IFF, under the patronage of Malaysia’s First Lady, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, has been invited to participate in the Milan Fashion Week.”
The government has announced the release of 251.6 million pesos (US$5.9 million) in funding to implement the madrasah education program.
The funds, released through the Department of Education, were in line with President Benigno Aquino’s commitment to improve the standard of education in the country as a tool for peace and development, Budget Secretary Florencio Abad said in a statement this week.
“Education is the central strategy of the Aquino administration for investing in the people and enhancing their opportunity to gain meaningful employment,” Abad said.
He added that the government also needed to “mainstream and institutionalize madrasah education” as part of the national system of basic education.
The program has three components: Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) in public schools, ALIVE for out-of-school Muslim youths and adults, and assistance to private madaris (schools for higher religious education).
Of the funds released, 173.25 million pesos will go to the office of the education secretary while 78.35 million pesos will be released directly to school division offices to cover the allowances of Muslim teachers.
After Australian animals exported to Indonesia were discovered to have undergone terrible torture, little has changed:
With Australia’s live cattle exports to Indonesia still in limbo, the RSPCA is now calling for Australian abbattoirs to be banned from ritually killing animals without stunning them first.
‘The national halal standard requires most abbattoirs to stun the animals before their throat is cut, but several have been given approval to kill animals without stunning‘.
Several? How many? On what basis?
Then they interview Mr. Haliloff, one of the allowed butchers to kill cattle without stunning:
… He says most of his customers would not buy the meat if it had been stunned.
…’He says many of his customers actually watch him slaughter the animals to ensure it is halal.

What is happening in this London borough is really worrying. If the police, instead of being ordered to fight these thugs, is just covering it up as it looks like, the problem in a near future will worsen. Of course, that’s a not very probable possibility, specially after the election of the fundamentalist IFE-supported Rahman to be Mayor of the borough last year.
Police have been accused of “covering up” a campaign of abuse, threats and violence aimed at “Islamicising” an area of London.
Victims say that officers in the borough of Tower Hamlets have ignored or downplayed outbreaks of hate crime, and suppressed evidence implicating Muslims in them, because they fear being accused of racism. (It isn’t the first time this happens…).
The claims come as four Tower Hamlets Muslims were jailed for at least 19 years for attacking a local white teacher who gave religious studies lessons to Muslim girls.
The Sunday Telegraph has uncovered more than a dozen other cases in Tower Hamlets where both Muslims and non-Muslims have been threatened or beaten for behaviour deemed to breach fundamentalist “Islamic norms.”
One victim, Mohammed Monzur Rahman, said he was left partially blind and with a dislocated shoulder after being attacked by a mob in Cannon Street Road, Shadwell, for smoking during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan last year.
“Two guys stopped me in the street and asked me why I was smoking,” he said. “I just carried on, and before I knew another dozen guys came and jumped me. The next thing I knew, I was waking up in hospital.”
Well, this is the results of letting clerics like Anjem Choudary speak day after day about Islamicing UK:
UK: Islamist organization receives funds secretly.
UK: Charity praised by PM and Prince Charles, linked to Hamas.
IFE supported Ratman Lutfur wins on Tower Hamlets: 1, 2, 3.
UK: Tower Hamlets Luftur Rahman puts fundamentalist sympathiser in charge of the money.
We have to thank him for his exact portrait of what is to live under “tolerant” Islam, though:
A year after his appointment as the first bishop of the overwhelmingly Muslim Comoros–which consists of three islands between mainland Africa and Madagascar–Bishop Mahuza Yava told Aid to the Church in Need that Christians are “well accepted and tolerated.”
“It is a tolerant Islam which has nothing to do with extremism,” he said. “We can freely express ourselves as long as we don’t proselytize. We do not have to fear for our lives as long as we do not infringe upon Islam.”
Bishop Yava added, however, that “a woman who marries a Muslim man will be forced to convert to Islam if she is not strong in her faith,” and “Christian children are badgered by their Muslim friends at school to convert to Islam.”
Most of the nation’s 6,000 Catholics are foreign workers.
People are fearful for Farah Hatim, the Catholic girl abducted and forced to marry and then to convert to Islam in the city of Rahim Yar Khan in southern Punjab. According to Fides the girl’s family is concerned because Farah is constantly drugged and life-threatened. Yet authorities continue to discourage attempts by the family in its battle to request the release of Farah.
Yesterday Qasim Hatim and Huma, a brother and a sister of the victim, were summoned by local police to show them a marriage certificate, a declaration of conversion to Islam and a picture of Farah, with the traditional Muslim robes.
According to reports obtained by the Iranian Christian News Agency, Mohabat News, this 32 years old new Christian man, Farshid Fathi, who resides in Tehran, pursuant to a pre-planned series of home invasions by the security forces, was arrested on September 26, 2010. Now, after more than 5 months from his arrest and remaining in custody at the 209th wing of Evin prison, his fate remains unresolved and unclear.
Mohabat News has reports indicating that this Christian prisoner has been held in solitary confinement for months and has been given permission to speak to his family once a week only and despite the conclusion of all interrogations there has been no court orders or instructions issued in his case.
The security forces and the interrogators have been using psychological torture methods to force Farshid to confess and provide a full list of all individuals he has evangelized and who and where are the domestic and foreign contacts.
The likes of Osama Saeed and Hamza Yousaf are the SNP’s new defenders of Scottish values. Osama Saeed, who was a spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood, a supporter of Yemeni Al-Qaeda cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki, was also a Scottish National Party candidate and an adviser to Prime Minister Salmond.
Osama Saeed, named one of Scotland’s Top 100 thinkers and opinion formers, wrote an article for The Guardian championing the return of the Caliphate. “A restored caliphate,” Osama explained, “is entirely compatible with democratically accountable institutions.” It would be just like the EU, except its leader would be called a Caliph, its law would be Sharia and if the US and Britain are really sincere about helping Muslims, they should support the restoration of the Caliphate.
In an astoundingly short time, the Scottish National Party has gone from collaborating with Nazis, to collaborating with Islamists. Its talk of Scottish values has become a farce. SNP candidate Humza Yousaf took his oath of allegiance in the Scottish Parliament in Urdu. Jahangir Hanif became known as the Kalashnikov Councilor over a video of him firing an AK-47 in an armed camp in Pakistan. And the SNP has funneled hundreds of thousands of pounds to the Scottish Islamic Foundation, which has served as a forum for Muslim Brotherhood speakers. The unemployed of West Dunbartonshire face cuts, but there’s always money on hand for the Scottish Islamic Foundation.
This has been the answer given by British Muslims to Minabe, the Advisory Council of Mosques and Imams, created after the attacks of 7 / J in London:
The women “should be home” and stay out of negotiations in the places of worship which, in fact, have even banned their entry. But Mohammed Nadeem’s opinion is not anecdotal nor reporters sought a refractory to illustrate his story.
Both the imams and the governing bodies of British mosques have flatly rejected the attempt by a semiofficial organization composed of Muslims who sought to foster the participation of women at least in the management of places of Islamic worship. It also wanted that at least sermons would be conducted in English and not Arabic.
… “From an Islamic point of view, prayer is invalid if it is not in Arabic. ” End of discussion. Or at least, end of discussion for most of British Islam, but also for the US. There, many young people born or grown from children in the U.S., coming from families who do not have Arabic as mother tongue are very reluctant to spend their time required to learn Arabic to recite.
… in Muslim communities, abandoning Arab language in cults is equated to an intolerable abandonment of Islamic identity. It’s about keeping the difference. And the difference is that it is read in Arabic, the language of Allah. and it also happens in the United States, where supposedly Islam is open to democracy and society in general.
So, who are isolating themselves? Who does not want to adapt to the country they live in? And why are the non-Muslims to blame for the results of this self-isolation?
It is not forbidden by law, as in Saudi Arabia. But in Chechnya the tradition prevents women from driving. The few who dare are some weirdos. Not to mention the shots of paint that have received some women for not covering the head with a veil.
… That standard is set, like everything in Chechnya, by Kadyrov, who heads the republic as if they were all his subjects. One of his first public remarks after being appointed prime minister in 2006 (he became president the following year) was to “encourage” women to cover their hair. Today, stories abound of women dismissed from their jobs for not reporting to work with a headscarf.
… In a report on the implementation of Islamic dress in Chechnya, published in March, Human Rights Watch wrote: “paintball attacks came several years ago in a quasi-official, though extra-legal,” campaign under “In Chechnya.
Kadyrov has also expressed its support for honor killings. After seven women’s bodies were found in a ditch on the road two years ago, said he probably had a “loose morals.” If a woman runs around and if a man runs around with her, both are dead. ”
The last part of the “campaign of virtue“, according to several women and activists in Chechnya, are the plainclothed state agents, who, standing in the street corners, shout advice to women about dress and behaviour.
The United Kingdom’s anti-democracy, Islamic supremacist group “Islam4UK” has made yet another wild claim of a plan to hold a public event, this time a plan for a “march” in Wiltshire’s Wootton Bassett, where dead UK soldiers’ bodies are “repatriated.” As the Scottish Sun reports, “The bodies of most of the British troops killed in Afghanistan have been driven through the town near Swindon, Wilts, in repatriation ceremonies after being flown home. “ The London Telegraph reports that Islam4UK’s Anjem Choudary also plans to harass the parents of dead British soldiers by writing them letters with his view of “the reality of what they died for.
”The Islamic supremacist “Islam4UK” group, which describes itself as “a platform for the global front Al-Muhajiroun,” has called for Sharia-based stonings, amputations, suppression of women, and support for Jihadist terrorists, is led by Anjem Choudary who has praised the 9/11 attackers, and has called for an end to freedom and democracy.
Read the entire post. Choudary is someone really known. Apart from those facts pointed out by REAL.org, he has demanded the introduction of Sharia Law in Britain, has called for the prosecution of Queen Elizabeth and recently, made a campaign called “Jesus4Shariah”, in which they tried to tell us Christians (whatever is our denomination) that Jesus was for the implementation of Shariah Law in society (Jesus, lived on 1st century a.D, Sharia Law was written by Mohammed on 7th century a.D.). 😯
Islam4UK has ignored the calls to abandon plans regarding this march. Something which is not really surprising…, specially considering that this absolutely deranged pro-Jihadist Muslim who used to drink and smoke dope multicultural peaceful pacifist guy is calling in a letter all the British people to convert to Islam:
We begin by inviting all non-Muslims to Islam, the perfect and most beautiful way of life, a favour from Allah (God) to mankind to take him out of the darkness of worshipping his own desires to the exclusive worship, submission and obedience of Allah alone, without partners and to testify the Messenger-ship of the final Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). We urge you to embrace Islam and save yourselves and your family from the hellfire and not to believe the lies and distortions which the Western media and non-Islamic regimes would have you believe about Muslims and their true intentions. Islam means submission and the Muslim is the one who submits to the will of God in his life. Verily the Messenger Muhammad told us that whoever heard his name from the Jews and Christians and did not believe would be held accountable for that on the day of judgement.
Islam means submission… yeah, but we don’t want to be slaves, so kiss my Spanish Catholic ass, you moron.
He also says that Afghanistan is a rich country… in opium and in Taliban freaks… 😆 I don’t know why he doesn’t go to that rich and first world country instead of living among beasty and dirty Infidels…. Argggghhh!!! Must be like Pantybomber’s father, who denounced his own son, not to lose his Western investments!!
These guys are absolutely pathetic.
It is understood that senior commanders believe Army snipers are being specifically targeted because they are often used to seek out and kill Taliban commanders.
Can’t kill them at battlefield, harrass them and their families when they are at home. How brave! 🙄
In an earlier protest in March 2009 Choudary and his followers hurled abuse and waved “baby killer” signs at parading British troops returning from Iraq.
According to Reuters, the march could be cancelled:
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said on Monday he was appalled that an Islamist group planned to march through a town renowned for honoring British troops killed in Afghanistan.
Any attempt to distress the families of dead soldiers would be “abhorrent and offensive,” he said in a statement.
Home Secretary Alan Johnson said the proposed march through Wootton Bassett in southwest England filled him with “revulsion” and he would grant a ban on the march on public order grounds if police and the local authority sought one.
Let’s hope so. There is nothing more than showing contempt or abusing dead people and their families. Specially given the circumstances…
A gang of young Arab thugs beat a 52-year-old Jewish man to death while he and his family were visiting a beach in northern Tel Aviv at the weekend. As the Arabs passed by the man and his family they reportedly made a crude remark to his daughter. When the man responded to the remark with anger, the Arabs began attacking the family. While the daughter and mother fled the scene and contacted police, the young men beat the father to death. Police are still investigating whether the man died from the blows inflicted on him, or if the Arab men drowned him in the nearby sea.
In the beating, they were helped by two Jewish girls who were dating these
violent bastards guys. The guys were drunk or had taken drugs.
Police said the victim’s wife, Sarah Karp, called them around midnight to report the attack. She, her husband, and their 24-year-old daughter Hila were sitting on a bench on the promenade of the northern Tel Aviv beach when a young man with an Arabic accent approached them and began to taunt Hila. Fearing that the man was going to attack Hila, the three attempted to leave. However, they were quickly surrounded by a group of young men who began to beat them, Sarah Karp said.
The men allegedly began to beat the family members with their fists, seriously bruising them, especially the father, on their torsos and faces.
The mother and daughter managed to break away from their assailants and fled northward on the beach promenade. At that point, they noticed the father was not with them.
The father managed to break free as well and apparently ran southward, leaving behind a trail of blood. However, the gang allegedly caught up with him and beat him unconscious. Police believe the group then threw Karp’s body into the sea.
But if you see other reports (Police have arrested eights suspects from a mostly Arab town nearby, but didn’t say they were actually Arabs) from this same crime, the fact that these odious bastards were Arabs is not reported. The fact that they were all under 22 must also be underlined.
The locations of the attacks, and the audacity in which they were carried out, certainly grabbed attention. The ambush in Tipaza brought the violence to a peaceful region to which residents of Algiers flock at weekends to use the beaches.
At least one European embassy responded by ordering its staff not to travel to Tipaza, one diplomat said.
“There has been a redeployment of al Qaeda forces over the territory with the focus on regions which used to be seen as safe such as Tipaza and Bordj Bou Arreridj,” said Boualem Ghomrassa, a security analyst with El Khabar newspaper.
The tactics deployed by al Qaeda’s North African wing have been evolving in other areas too.
Two sources close to the security forces told Reuters the group had revamped its structure, scrapping the previous system of nine geographical zones, each with a commander or “emir”, in favour of a streamlined system with four zones.
The group also appears to have decided to drop its previous tactic of mounting suicide attacks because the civilian casualties were alienating supporters.
But being that worrying, it only points to one fact, experts say. AQIM is weakening by the day in Algeria, attacking other countries on the area (such as Mauritania recently). The interesting thing, however, is that in several subjects (such as religious persecution, women’s rights, nightlife and Islamic dress), Algeria is implementing, very swiftly and with hardly any kind of international notice, Islamic law in all respects. So it’s not that AQIM’s violent tactics were “alienating supporters“, but rather that their own goals of building an Islamic society in the Maghreb are fulfilling themselves without having to employ terror tactics.
Jim Fitzpatrick stormed out of the London Muslim Centre after being told that strict Islamic rules meant his wife Sheila would have to move into another room.
The minister for food and farming, who was attending a constituent’s wedding at the centre, claimed the segregation of men and women at such events was affecting ‘social cohesion’.
He accused the centre in Whitechapel, east London, of imposing tough new segregation rules which Muslims in the community did not want.
Seems Shariah Law’s strict application is speeding. And no one is to be blamed more than UK Labour party.
But I am really surprised (not a bit) of the lack of coverage this has received. Because, if really that part about “imposing tough new segregation rules which Muslims in the community did not want” is true, why was he the only who was outraged when they told him the wedding’s celebration was segregated?
On Sept 2007 two women were expelled from a swimming-pool in Uppsala for taking a bath in top-less. Some groups of Swedish feminists have pressed this matter, creating the movement “Bara Brost” (that litterally means “Nude Breast”).
(…) Malmö is the European city the most important percentage of Muslim immigrants and also has present immigrants from other 150 nationalities. The proposal of forbidding top-less, supported from centered parties and some other groups near the church, are possibly a consecuence of the ethnic-religious composition of the citizenship.
(…) In later years, in Swedish swimming-pools, the vision of top-less women near an immigrant family with a veiled girl, has caused tensions and disarray. And this is probably the time in which the majority of the people attending the pools are Muslim youths.
I bet that if is this was only supported by the Church (any church), the reaction from “feminists” would have had much more publicity and not only “some groups” of feminists would have joined but most of them. In the end the measure to forbid the top-less has not been passed, but the efforts will not stop here.
The Obama Administration is planning a significant overhaul of the US-run prison at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan, and reforms of the entire Afghan jail network, as concern grows that they have become breeding grounds for Islamic militants.
The 600 detainees at Bagram have few privileges and almost no access to lawyers or human rights groups, and for the past fortnight have refused to leave their cells because of the indefinite detention.
In its early days, interrogation methods were abusive, and in 2002 two Afghans died after being beaten by US soldiers. The jail has in many respects become, for Afghans, a symbol of US abuse and excess similar to the reputation of Guantánamo or the former jail at Abu Ghraib in Iraq.
According to The New York Times, Marine Major Douglas M. Stone, who helped to improve detention facilities in Iraq, has conducted a review of Afghan jails and recommended separating Taleban militants from the general prison population. He believes that many small-time criminals are being converted into extremists and join the Taleban on their release.
The phenomenon of Muslim jailed criminals’ radicalization not only happens in Afghanistan because the “prison system” has a bad record on Human Rights. It also happens in Europe, in the US (1, 2) or in Australia.
Fifty-six alleged coup plotters, including two retired four-star generals, are set to go on trial Monday at a high-security prison in Turkey in a case that has exposed deep fissures over how to assure the future of Turkey’s secular democracy.
Dubbed “the trial of the century” in the Turkish media — and expected to continue formonths — it has split the country between those who see the case as a triumph of civilian power over the military elite that has long called the shots here, and those who believe the charges are trumped up by a government with Islamist roots determined to undermine Turkey’s secular guardians.
Prosecutors accuse the generals, the highest-ranking officers charged in Turkey’s 63-year history of multiparty democracy, of leading a conspiracy aimed at toppling the government of the Justice and Development Party, or AKP, which has been in power since 2002.
The lawyer for a key figure in the case, former military police chief Gen. Sener Eruygur, described the charges against her client as “malicious lies.”
Constitutionally empowered to protect Turkey’s secular order, Turkey’s military has toppled four governments since 1960. But a decade of political changes aimed at bringing Turkey in line with European Union norms have weakened its grip on power (with exactly the opposite result to the one they are pursuing: Islamists, as the consolidate power, are crimping democracy).
Reuters has more:
Many in Turkey’s secularist elite, including generals, judges and professors, fear the AK Party is trying to undermine the secular principles established by founder Ataturk by introducing Islam into public life. The party denies this.
Hundreds of protesters demonstrated outside the courtroom, waving Turkish flags and chanting: “The patriots are in prison.”
The role played by US and EU couldn’t be worse here.
Turkish soldiers walk outside the court building in Silivri, …
Far-right Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders lost a legal bid Wednesday to stop his pending trial for inciting hatred and discrimination against Muslims.
“The attorney general is of the opinion that there are no grounds” for a further appeal, the Dutch Supreme Court said in a statement.
Lawyers for Wilders had sought to overturn a ruling by the Amsterdam Court of Appeals in January that he should be prosecuted for a series of public anti- Muslim statements, particularly for comparing Islam to Nazism.
Well, this is nothing that we can consider as surprising. But anyway it something truly interesting that they want this to go to trial. Mr. Wilders has stated:
“I am being prosecuted for saying about Islam what millions of Dutch think. Freedom of expression is at risk of being offered at the altar of Islam.”
The real reason (at least for me) of this trial is that he considers Islam as equal to Nazism. Whatever our special ideas on the subject, this process is judging the personal idea of someone about an ideology/religion. Of course, I count with a just trial (consider me an optimist), in which he can express his own reasons about this. But I don’t know if, being realistic, we can count with that just trial. I fear he is going to be fried.
Just notice that he is labelled as “far-right” everywhere you read about him. Even if he has no link with Nazi parties, with actual far-right parties, etc etc.
NOTE: I really can’t blog often now. I am truly busy, I am sorry for this but life is like it is. Thanks to you all for your interest.
The UN’s human-rights body approved a proposal by Muslims nations Thursday urging passage of laws around the world to protect religion from criticism.
The proposal put forward by Pakistan on behalf of Islamic countries – with the backing of Belarus and Venezuela – had drawn strong criticism from free-speech campaigners and liberal democracies.
A simple majority of 23 members of the 47-nation Human Rights Council voted in favor of the resolution. Eleven nations, mostly Western, opposed the resolution, and 13 countries abstained.
The resolution urges states to provide “protection against acts of hatred, discrimination, intimidation and coercion resulting from defamation of religions and incitement to religious hatred in general.”
“Defamation of religions is the cause that leads to incitement to hatred, discrimination and violence toward their followers,” Pakistan’s ambassador Zamir Akram said. (Heyyy, Zamir, so what about discrimination against non-Muslims in Islamic countries? Are they going to be protected against discrimination? No, right?)
“It is important to deal with the cause, rather than with the effects alone,” he said.
I had written before about this really worrying (at least for me) subject. It’s curious though: there are NO Spanish MSM which have published something about this, that I know of.
But you know what’s curious too? That the Organization for the Security and the Cooperation in Europe has alerted of the discrimination that Christians are suffering in Europe:
Last March 4th, for the 1st time in its history, the office of the Organization for the Security and the Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), for the Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), organised a debate in Vienna specially focused in the risks the right to religious liberty regarding Christians, experiment in Europe.
The intervention of Mario Mauro, VicePresident of the European Parliament, was the most interesting of all. He is also the personal representative of the OSCE Presidency against racism, xenophobia and discrimination. the MEP explained that the “examples show that that discriminations against Christians do not only exist in the countries where the Christians are a minority but also in those in which they are a majority of the population, not considering the persecutions that strike these communities outside the OSCE’s area”.
(…) But, why does the Organization for the Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) worry now about the abused rights of Christians? The answer was pointed out in the same debate, remembering that hate and intolerance do not only affect the people’s security but also to country’s stability. That’s why the Organization has decided lately to intensify the efforts to counter these discriminative cases more efficiently in the future.
It seems that Christians are mainly discriminated even in Christian countries. Something which is really worrying…
NOTE that they are NOT worried about the discrimination considerated as an unlawful and unethical fact, but because it can affect country’s stability. Specially in this economic crisis…
Anyway where are the riots? Where the enraged statements made by Governments about Christian persecution? Where the Pope’s statements calling for the murder of those insulting Catholicism/Orthodox/etc.? Where the cartoonists are obliged to live in hiding because they draw a cartoon mocking Jesus Christ or the Church (whatever Church it is)? So, now tell me who did all these things and what religion the belong to now, in this very same moment. Just in case someone begins speaking about “Christian extremism” or something like that…
If we read the statement made by the secretary general of the Moroccan Community Abroad Council (a consultive bureau created by Moroccan King Mohammed VIth), Abdellah Boussouff, we can really consider that as a reality. He nearly goes as far as considering Moroccan as equal as Spanish Muslim.
(He) stated to the Spanish news agency Europa Press during a meeting about Islam in Europe which took place in Fez, that Moroccan nationals living in Spain “need a strong organization that defends the fulfillment of the religious freedom” in the country and for the “full practice of their rights”.
(…) (He also) added that some of the points that were included in the cooperation aggreement between Spain and the Islamic Commission in 1992 “are not fully applied”, pointing to the need of a “really representative and democratic organism because a lot of Muslims do not feel represented by the Islamic Commission” (name which are not fully applied and why a lot of Muslims do not feel represented by the Islamic Commission. I am not saying the latter is “moderate”, I’m saying that it would be interesting to know what is the future Morocco wants for Spanish Muslims, as pointing out what Spain lacks of in this respect would underline what they like Spanish Islam to be).
He maintains that they are “optimistic with Moroccan community’s progress in Spain”, because “all processes need time” and “both Spain and Morocco have a lot of things in common” (name a few… because except the Spanish-Moroccan war of late XIXth century and early XXth century and the Strait of Gibraltar, I just can’t really see what more).
As a special measure, Boussouff considers that the Islamic Council must create a census of Muslims in Spain that could chose their representatives directly, as it’s already done in France and Belgium (countries where there is NO radicalization of Muslims, is there? Ironically speaking, that is...).
But it’s not me the only one who thinks this is meddling in other State’s affairs:
These statements have been regarded by the Spanish Islamic Communities’ Union as a Moroccan meddling in Islam’s management inside Spanish territory.
The president of this Union, Riay Tatary, stated that the “Moroccan Government is not the indicated entity to speak about the management of the Muslim community inside Spain and how their leaders should be elected” (so, Tatary, are you feeling your chair moving under you?).
Anyway, this must be the first time I agree with Tatary in something, although of course, not for the same reasons: I am not the president of any Muslim organization 😛 There is something to consider, though: the growing number of Moroccan nationals in Spain (after Hispanic-American, they are the main immigrant group in Spain) makes this reaaaaaaaaally interesting for Morocco, who already wants Ceuta, Melilla and the Canary Islands in a expansionist policy, seen always not very disgustedly by France, a traditional Moroccan ally, and by UK, because of Gibraltar (of course, Spain does not have one thousand million Chinese menacing Hong Kong, does it? In that case, the results would have been truly different 😆 ).
Meddling in other State’s affairs does not make a country trustworthy. Trying to meddle over an entire community to use it as an assault weapon to break into the fortress is even more untrustworthy. But considering the degree of Zapatero’s alliance with Morocco, this meddling is not completelly unexpected.
(I’m sorry for not posting, but the spring, the flowers and me are not the best of friends 😛 ).
