Suspicious items checked on 2 cargo planes

A U.S. official says authorities are investigating whether a string of suspicious packages was a dry run for a plot to send bombs through the mail.A suspicious package containing a toner cartridge with wires and powder was found during routine screening of cargo in the United Kingdom, prompting authorities to scour three planes and a truck in the United States on Friday.

Plane Bomb Alert in the UK

Searches were conducted in Philadelphia, Newark, N.J., and New York City, but no explosives were found. All the packages believed to be suspicious came from Yemen and were being sent via UPS.

Yemen is the home of the al-Qaida branch that claimed responsibility for an attempted bombing of a U.S.-bound airliner on Christmas.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the ongoing investigation.

It looks like they were sent to synagogues in Chicago: “Suspicious packages discovered in Dubai and England in air cargo shipments to the U.S. contained explosive materials and appeared headed for Jewish places of worship in Chicago, President Obama confirmed Thursday afternoon“.

As you see in the video, Obama thinks that AQ threats coming from Yemen will be stopped if more jobs are created. I disagree with this completely: Jihadists don’t go killing people because they are undemployed, they do it because they think they are morally justified to do it and because it’s their duty to Allah. We can discuss them if the Qu’ran tells them to do it (although if not, there are so many mistaken Muslims…), but the fact is that they actually believe it does.

Apparently there were two packages in the UK:

The “sinister” parcel at East Midlands, contained in a UPS container, comprised what police described as a “manipulated” computer printer cartridge, which was covered in white powder and had wires protruding from it.

The device initially tested negative for traces of explosives but it was understood that a further search uncovered a second suspicious package containing a “cleverly hidden” device in a printer, which included a mobile phone as one of its components.

The Daily Mail points out that the terror alert has happened 4 days before the Nov. 2 elections in which terrorism has played no role. We’ll see if this has any effect on these last days of the campaign or not.

Are people really believing these stories?

A bomb of this nature would only kill the person standing next to the printer.
Why on earth would someone plot to bomb a random person on the other side of the planet,
by shipping the device with fed ex?
Does the super-secret ALCIADA buy the components for their evil underground bombs on amazon?

Great Intel False Flag Operation to scare the hell out of naive people.

  2. Al-Qaeda must have some serious recruitment problems, if they are now sending around bombs by air mail:

      Hello, Andreas.
I like your post. It’s an interesting possibility.
AQ has been suffering from recruitment problems for some time. Specially because in Iraq or Afghanistan is easy to be a suicide bomber: you don’t have to walk through scanners or anything and it’s not easy to monitor a lot of extremists.
But to reach any Western country is much more difficult and police and intelligence services are monitoring extremers, specially if they have gone to Pakistan or Afghanistan to train themselves. It’s not easy then to build a plot.
So they are just considering other ways to act.
      It’s reasonable. 😀

So, what? Do you agree with people being targeted just because of their religion? Because the target isn’t “a random person”: it’s a Jew.
Whatever the person who could be killed as a result of that, it’s murder and it’s terrorism.
Of course, anyone can buy a printer cartridge and that’s not a criminal offense in any part of the world. Just as you can buy fertilizer or detergent and all of them can be used to make explosives.
In Spain, there were some terrorists arrested before March 11th bombings because they had bought tons of detergent, and everyone mocked the police, calling them the “Dixan commando” (Dixan is a detergent brand here). But then when March 11th bombings took place, no one remembered that.
So, want to call me naive? OK, you can. But I prefer to say I’m prudent.
