Al-Qaradawi: “Muslims should acquire nuclear weapons to terrorize their enemies”

Wow, how peaceful! I’m sure that afterwards, he supports denuclearization of Western countries…

During the past month, Imam Yusuf al-Qaradawi, spiritual guide to the Muslim Brotherhood, has called on Muslims to acquire nuclear weapons “to terrorize their enemies.” He also boycotted an interfaith meeting with Jews on grounds he believes they support murdering Muslims in Palestine, and he additionally said Muslims are permitted to kill Israeli women because they serve in the army.

This continues Qaradawi’s long-established support of violent jihad. But despite this record, he has been embraced as a “moderate” Muslim by his defenders in the West and the Arab world. In a September interview, former London Mayor Ken Livingstone said “the fact that Sheikh Qaradawi has been banned [from Britain] is a disgrace; he is one of the leading progressive voices in the Muslim world.” Livingstone blamed “a huge smear campaign organized by Zionists.” (This guy has taken some delusional pills, hasn’t he?).

In America, John Esposito, a religious scholar who is close to the Brotherhood, has called Qaradawi a supporter of a “reformist interpretation of Islam and its relationship to democracy, pluralism and human rights.” The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and prominent Islamists like Tariq Ramadan, grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hasan al-Banna, have expressed similar sentiments about Qaradawi.

Qaradawi replied that this goal would be permissible, saying he was “happy” to learn that Pakistan had such a nuclear weapon to defend itself. Qaradawi explained that that was the meaning of Koranic verses urging Muslims “to terrorize thereby the enemy of God and your enemy.”

Support for Iran and Muslim rights to possess nuclear technology have been recurring themes for Qaradawi.

It is obligatory on all Muslims to resist any possible attack the US might launch against Iran,” Qaradawi said in a 2007 interview. “The U.S. is an enemy of Islam that has already declared war on Islam under the disguise of war on terrorism and provides Israel with unlimited support.”

via Some Moderate! Imam, Friend of Professors and Hollywood, Wants Nukes for Muslims ‘To Terrorize Their Enemies’.

So this guy considers me his enemy and yet he is the moderate and I’m the Islamophobe.

 The worst of all is that the guys is serious. He is not Achmed, the dead terrorist.

Opinion: Obama Praises “Jew-Free” Indonesia

More on Obama’s trip to Indonesia (1, 2) :

Obama heralds Indonesia’s political, religious diversity in latest outreach to Muslims. The U.S. President heaped praise upon Indonesia as the model of what an Islamic Country can be. He especially noted the incredible religious diversity of Indonesia when he remarked:

“Across an archipelago that contains some of G-d’s most beautiful creations, islands rising above an ocean named for peace, people choose to worship G-d as they please. Islam flourishes, but so do other faiths.”

Are other faiths in Indonesia “flourishing”? According to the latest statistics (from the U.S. government), over 86 percent of Indonesians are Muslim. That makes 209,000,000 practicing Muslims in the country. Let’s see about the other “flourishing religions”:

5.7 percent of Indonesians are Protestant

3 percent are Roman Catholic

1.8 percent are Hindu

.00001 percent are Jews

That’s right, 209,000,000 Muslims and 20 Jews.

If this is Obama’s definition of “flourishing religious diversity”, I am really worried.

Of course it’s not a problem for me. See even if I wanted to, I could never even visit Indonesia let alone live there. That’s because this “model of democracy” does not permit those with Israeli passports from entering the country. Really gives you a good feeling about Obama’s vision of Middle East peace, doesn’t it?

I thought that this guy was delusional: how in a nation of 200 million people, could there be only 20 Jews? Well, you can see here, that Jewish religion is not even mentioned when studying Indonesian religious statistics.

West Bank: Blogger faces potential life prison sentence for “insulting Islam”

Another Kareem Amer:

Husayin faces a potential life prison sentence on heresy charges for “insulting the divine essence.” Many in this conservative Muslim town say he should be killed for renouncing Islam, and even family members say he should remain behind bars for life.”He should be burned to death,” said Abdul-Latif Dahoud, a 35-year-old Qalqilya resident. The execution should take place in public “to be an example to others,” he added.

….

Husayin used a fake name on his English and Arabic-language blogs and Facebook pages. After his mother discovered articles on atheism on his computer, she canceled his Internet connection in hopes that he would change his mind.

Instead, he began going to an Internet cafe – a move that turned out to be a costly mistake. The owner, Ahmed Abu-Asal, said the blogger aroused suspicion by spending up to seven hours a day in a corner booth. After several months, a cafe worker supplied captured snapshots of his Facebook pages to Palestinian intelligence officials.

Officials monitored him for several weeks and then arrested him on October 31 as he sat in the cafe, said Abu-Asal.

Husayin’s family has been devastated by the arrest. On a recent day, his father stood sadly in the family barber shop, cluttered with colorful towels and posters of men in outdated haircuts. He requested that a reporter not write about his son to avoid being publicly shamed.

Two cousins attributed the writings to depression, saying Husayin was desperate to find better work. Requesting anonymity because of the shame the incident, they said Husayin’s mother wants him to remain in prison for life – both to restore the family’s honor and to protect him from vigilantes.

He could face a life sentence if he’s found guilty, depending on how harshly the judge thinks he attacked Islam and how widely his views were broadcast, said Islamic scholar Tamimi.

Even so, a small minority has questioned whether the government went too far.

Zainab Rashid, a liberal Palestinian commentator, wrote in an online opinion piece that Husayin has made an important point: “that criticizing religious texts for their (intellectual) weakness can only be combatted by … oppression, prison and execution.”

(Found).

This last guy, Mr. Rashid, is a really freedom lover. If you don’t agree with religious texts intellectually speaking, let’s harrass you and if you insist, we will imprison you and kill you.

Governments in the region are also making false FB pages to stalk dissidents and then arrest them.

Another example in practice of what Islamic countries want to impose in the rest of us: the abominable UN Resolution “against Defamation of Religions.

Iran: Islamic religious leader expects Pope to consider Qur’an as holy as the Gospels

What has this guy smoked?

A senior Iranian religious leader told Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran on November 11 that he expects Pope Benedict to consider the Qur’an as holy as the Gospels and to condemn US actions in the region. Cardinal Tauran is the president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue.“We expect the Pope to… consider the Qur’an as holy as the Gospels and Torah and condemn the disgraceful act of torching the Qur’an,” said Grand Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi-Amoli.

Look to Iran’s east; people are killed in Afghanistan and Pakistan everyday. Look to the West; terror and killings continue daily in Iraq,” the grand ayatollah continued. Across the Middle East, murder happens daily.”

via Catholic Culture : Latest Headlines : Iranian religious leader expects Pope to consider Qur’an as holy as the Gospels.

a) Never, ever, a Catholic would consider anything holy but the Catholic Bible, which is NOT the Torah (although some books are taken from it). But NEVER EVER NOT EVEN with a psychiatric problem, would a Catholic consider the Qu’ran as holy as the Bible. In fact, for a Catholic, the Qur’an is not holy at all.

I don’t like Tauran (he’s one multi-culti fellow) and I expect he hadn’t told him anything but that. I don’t like either that Joint Commission between the Vatican and Iran. What do they have to speak about with a country that has recently condemned a Christian to death on apostasy charges?

b) Of course, Iran has nothing to do with terrorism in the Middle East, hasn’t it? Hamas, Hizbullah, the Iraqi insurgents

But this gets better. This “answer” (just get you dhimmis on your knees and revere the Qur’an) has a motive: the letter that Pope Benedict XVI wrote to Ahmadinejad, answering another one in which the latter told the Pope he wanted him to fight Islamophobia in Europe. Benedict in return, pointed out the lack of religious freedom in the Middle East:

(…) the recent Special Assembly for the Middle East of the Synod of Bishops, which took place in the Vatican from 10 to 24 October 2010, was a significant moment of reflection and sharing on the situation in the Middle East and on the great challenges placed before the Catholic communities present there. In some countries these communities face difficult circumstances, discrimination and even violence and they lack the freedom to live and publicly profess their faith. I am certain that the work of the Synod will bear good fruit for the Church and for the whole of Society.

So the answer is “consider the Qu’ran as holy as your book“. Yeah, sure. Get a life, cleric.
