Hamas Minister: "Jews are Bacteria, May He Anhilate This Filthy People"

MEMRI has the whole speech.

“[The Jews] suffer from a mental disorder, because they are thieves and aggressors. A thief or an aggressor, who took property or land, develops a psychological disorder and pangs of conscience, because he took something that wasn’t his.
“They want to present themselves to the world as if they have rights, but, in fact, they are foreign bacteria – a microbe unparalleled in the world. It’s not me who says this. The Koran itself says that they have no parallel: ‘You shall find the strongest men in enmity to the believers to be the Jews.’
“May He annihilate this filthy people who have neither religion nor conscience. I condemn whoever believes in normalizing relations with them, whoever supports sitting down with them, and whoever believes that they are human beings. They are not human beings. They are not people. They have no religion, no conscience, and no moral values.”

Abdallah Jarbu, Hamas Deputy Minister of Religious Endowments.

He is really meaning all the Jews, not the Zionists only. Not because Zionists should be anihilated but because Western press is normally blaming everything on the Zionists, as if the latter were the guys responsible of the present situation. As everyone can see, this guy is referring himself to all the Jews.

Nigeria: at least 13 Christian killed in another Jihadi attack on Jos (U)

And again:

residents say at least 13 people were killed by Muslim herdsmen who attacked a predominantly Christian village close to the troubled central city Jos.Witnesses say the attackers, disguised as soldiers, raided the village, 30 kilometers south of Jos, at dawn.  Most of the victims of the attack were women and children.  Local officials said security forces were alerted about the attack, but help came too late.

Previous violence in and around Jos has claimed several-thousand lives.  More than 200 people, mostly Christians, died last week in massacres in three nearby villages.  More than 300 people, mostly Muslims, died in January during clashes in and around the city.

via At Least 13 Killed In New Nigerian Sectarian Clash | Africa | English.

They were killed with machetes according to BBC.

Al Jazeera doesn’t report on the religion of the victims neither the one the attackers had, the same it did some days ago when 500 Christians were killed brutally:

On the dusty streets of three Christian villages in northern Nigeria, dozens of bodies lined the streets. Other victims of the weekend’s Muslim fury jammed a local morgue, the limbs of slaughtered children tangled in a grotesque mess.

One toddler appeared fixed in the protective but hopeless embrace of an older child, possibly his brother. Another had been scalped. Most had severed hands and feet.

Gadaffi, meanwhile, has proposed a solution: the partition of Nigeria between the Islamic and the Chritian parts.

Petraeus: "I don't think Iran will have the bomb this year"

Official photograph of General David H. Petrae...

Image via Wikipedia

Well, what a relief. From the Independent:

Iran‘s suspected drive to acquire nuclear weapons appears to have slipped back slightly, and Tehran is unlikely to have a bomb during 2010, America’s top commander for the region told Congress yesterday.

The remarks of General David Petraeus, head of US Central Command, seemed in part designed to back up the current stance of the Obama administration that – despite the acute anxieties of Israel and moderate Gulf states – there is still room for diplomatic and economic sanctions to persuade the Tehran regime to halt its uranium enrichment programme.

“It has, thankfully, slid to the right a bit and it is not this calendar year, I don’t think,” General Petraeus testified to the Senate Armed Services Committee when asked when he thought Iran would have a nuclear weapon.

If this is true, it’s not really great relief. If he is not saying all the truth just to please Obama, he’s doing no favor to US or Western countries in general.

The truth here is that they don’t really know

Spain: Seven accused of setting up a Sharia court, freed

Map of Catalonia

The victim failed to appear for the third time to identify them. This is an update on this story:

The seven Moroccans charged with having set up a court of Sharia law in Valls (Catalonia) and of having passed a death sentence on a women accused of adultery, have today been released. The committal judge at Tarragona Court was forced to overturn their imprisonment after the woman who had brought the charges failed to appear in court to identify them for the third time, say court sources, cited by the EP agency.

The woman, of Moroccan citizenship, disappeared without trace last November and is thought to have returned to live in Morocco, although the police in that country have not been able to trace her.

The place where, according to the failed-to-appear victim, the sharia court held session and condemned her

It’s interesting to note that La Vanguardia titles this: “The woman condemned to death by stoning on adultery charged in Valls eludes to appear and declare in Court“.

The process has not ended though: the Judge has declared again the investigation under secrecy and will continue the enquiries. He considers that there are still leads which should be investigated, specially because Catalan police, the Mossos d’Esquadra, consider as “probable” the existence of a Sharia Court in Valls and its surroundings.

The defense says that the victim “lives and works in Morocco” and has asked for the process to be ended. The Judge has rejected that till he speaks with the alleged victim.

Turkey: Gay community wants to prosecute Minister who said homosexuality was a disease

Ms. Kavaf, Turkish Minister of Family Affairs

Ms Kavaf, Turkish Minister for Family Affairs

Turkey‘s Islamic-rooted government has frequently been criticized in the past by human rights groups over its treatment of the country’s gay community. But now a Turkish gay rights group has asked prosecutors to charge Family Affairs Minister, Aliye Selma Kavaf, for what they called her derogatory comments about homosexuality.

The complaint, by the LAMBDA Association, charges that Kavaf’s remarks in a newspaper interview were “an insult, incitement to crime and incitement to enmity and hate” – crimes which, in Turkey, are punishable by up to five years in jail. Kavaf had said that she believed homosexuality was a “biological disorder, a disease.”

“I think it should be treated,” she was quoted as saying.

Kavaf “should apologize to lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transvestites and transsexuals in this country for her discriminatory statements that turn homosexuals into a target,” said Ruzgar Gokce, a LAMBDA member, outside the Istanbul courthouse where the group filed its complaint.

“The only person who is sick, is the minister,” chanted dozens of gays and lesbians in front of the courthouse.

Firat Soyle, a lawyer for LAMBDA, said the complaint was only symbolic since the minister enjoyed parliamentary immunity and would not face prosecution.

Palestinian Riots Raise Talk of 3rd Intifada

Hamas

Hundreds of stone-throwing Palestinians clashed with Israeli police at several sites in East Jerusalem today, protesting Israel‘s rededication of an ancient synagogue in the Old City. The clashes raised fears of a third intifada, or uprising, amid an ongoing crisis in relations with the U.S.

At least 40 Palestinians and three policemen were slightly wounded in the clashes, when Palestinians threw stones and Israeli police responded with stun grenades, rubber bullets and tear gas.

The Islamist Hamas movement charged that the restoration work on the Hurva synagogue could endanger the Muslim holy site of the al-Aqsa mosque, some 400 yards away. Israel vehemently denied the accusations. Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, called for a “day of rage” to protest this week’s reopening of the synagogue, which was destroyed by Jordan in 1948. Several Arab parliament members warned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‘s actions in Jerusalem could spark a new wave of violence.

France: ETA kills a policeman

{{es|1=Anagrama de la organización terrorista ...

Image via Wikipedia

El Correo, MadridPress, El País or LD report that in a shooting just outside Dammarie-Les-Lys, near Paris, an agent from the Gendarmerie has been killed and an ETA terrorist wounded and arrested. The policeman was a 53-year-old married man, father of four children. He was wearing bulletproof vest, according to police sources, but the bullet went to his armpit and died an hour later. This is the first time ETA kills a policeman in France in their now quite long terrorist background.

The terrorist was with other three people trying to rob a car dealer. The police asked them to hand over their documentation, when they began shooting them. French police has also announced the other three alleged ETA terrorists have fled and have partly succeeded in their aim of stealing a vehicle.

According to anti-terrorist sources, the arrested ETA terrorist can be Joseba Fernández Aspurz, who fled some months ago  from Spanish police custody and who took part in terrorist vandalism or “kale borroka” (street riots, breaking banks’ windows and similar) in Navarra.

Le Monde, on the other hand, only speaks about “the Basque clue”, as there is no official confirmation yet of the identity of the arrested man.
