UK: Generation Jihad

BBC:

The views of Rizwan Ditta and Bilal Mohammed, two young Muslims born and brought up in Halifax, West Yorkshire, will be anathema to the vast majority of the British people including many British Muslims.

Ditta claims: "You can go to any [Muslim] youth on the street and say, ‘Do you believe in Jihad?’ and he’ll say ‘Yes’. ‘Do you believe that al-Qaeda is a terrorist movement?’ He’ll say, ‘No’."

Bilal says: "The Western world is not letting anyone live in peace. It’s the West who are at war with everyone."

The two are close friends. Both received prison sentences for possessing material likely to be useful to terrorists, most of it downloaded from the internet.

Ditta was sentenced to four years and Mohammed to two. Both had pleaded guilty.

…They were released last year and are now out on licence with strict conditions. Both are unrepentant.

Mohammed says that he was welcomed home with flowers and presents. He claims that none of the Muslim community views him as a terrorist.

"They gave me support and comfort, saying everything is alright. Don’t worry, you didn’t do anything."

Very important point… The community supports terrorism, youths feel they are actually supported by that terrorism, so they don’t feel repentant and they consider they are actually right.

Turkey: European Court rules Religion ID, against Human Rights

Well, who on earth wouldn’t have thought it was?

A European court on Tuesday (Feb. 2) ordered Turkey to remove the religious affiliation section from citizens’ identification cards, calling the practice a violation of human rights.
Religious minorities and in particular Christian converts in Turkey have faced discrimination because of the mandatory religion declaration on their identification cards, which was enforced until 2006. Since then, citizens are allowed to leave the “Religion” section of their IDs blank.
The ruling by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) “is a good thing,” said Zekai Tanyar, president of the Turkish Protestant Alliance, citing prejudices against Christian converts.

If someone leaves that “section” blank, it’s because he is not a Muslim, so the effects would be just as bad as if he/she were actually writing it down.

Spain: AQIM announces “Al-Andalus Media Production”

[Translation by T&P]

Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) has just published a press release in radical Islamist websites announcing the creation of the Institute of Al-Andalus Productions (Producciones Mediáticas Al-Andalus), a Jihadist propaganda net. It is born to “regain the stolen Islamic land” in Spain. This center -as the terrorist organization explains in the press release- will be in charge of reporting about AQ’s terrorist actions, unifying the group’s communication strategy. It imitates AQ’s main branch, which, since 2001 has its own MSM, As Sahab. The importance that AQIM gives to regaining the Islamic Al-Andalus lands is underlined by the name they have given to their new MSM branch. Why Al-Andalus? “Lost Muslim paradise, 8 centuries kingdom, when the Muslims established their religion and brought the Jihad’s flag, making possible God’s arrival on earth“. And it continues: “Jihad is an obligation for the Islamic nation for six centuries now, since the fall of the first city of Al-Andalus, when Granada fell. It is not since the ocupation of Palestine by the Jews, or the ocupation of Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia by the Crusaders, but since Al-Andalus fell“.

via FACTUAL. Éste es un medio libre – Al Qaeda, a la ‘reconquista’ de España.

Makes you wonder why it has had so little publicity in the MSM, doesn’t it?

The NEFA FOUNDATION has published the press release in pdf. Strategic Social has also written about AQIM’s propaganda.

Propaganda forms a crucial part of AQIM’s strategy for success in North Africa.  AQIM makes robust use of propaganda messages to portray itself as fighting a war on behalf of repressed Muslims in North Africa against repressive governments allied with evil French and Western “crusaders.”  A key to undercutting this strategy is to point out the Muslims civilians who are, either intentionally or unintentionally, killed or injured by AQIM attacks, an inconvenient truth that is either overlooked or outright denied in AQIM’s depictions of its operations.

Northern Europe: Somali Muslim Khat-sale finances Islamic terrorism

Denmark has become the target and transit country for the large-scale Somali Muslim narcotic plant Khat. The Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish intelligence services warn that the proceeds end up with the Somali Muslim terrorist.

Denmark, along with the rest of the Scandinavia has become an extensive hub for the Somali Muslim Khat sale, which is financing the Somali Muslim terror groups, such al-Shabaab, that the Muhammed cartoonist, Kurt Westergaard’s,  assassin was affiliated with.

via Scandinavian Somali Muslim Khat-sale finances Muslim terrorism – Counter Jihad.

Back some weeks ago, T&P linked an article from Newsweek in which they showed the bad results of both khat’s addiction and production in Yemen. But it told another important thing:

because chewing the leaf isn’t forbidden by Islam, “khat is alcohol for Muslims,” says Yahya Amma, the head merchant at the Agriculture Suq, one of the largest khat markets in the city. “You can chew it and still go to prayers.”

That’s the point. As Mohammed never mentioned khat, every Muslim can consume it and yet consider himself as a full practising Muslim. Not only non-Muslims can take it, so the potential market of this drug grows if we compare it with other drugs.

But as other drugs (we are seeing it with the link Sahel-Venezuela), the revenues are now used to fund terrorism. In this case, it’s necessary to add, khat’s not forbidden, that I know of, in these Scandinavian countries.

Turkey: Malatya’s murders, part of the plot to destabilize pro-Islamic Government

Malatya’s Third Criminal Court on Friday (Dec. 25) took further steps to connect the murders of three Christians in southeastern Turkey to a Turkish military plan to destabilize the pro-Islamic government.

Evidence surfaced in Turkish press last month linking the murders of the three Christians in the southeastern city of Malatya with army activities to overthrow the government in a special operation called the “Operation Cage Action Plan.” The Malatya prosecutor and plaintiffs on Friday requested that the Istanbul prosecutor further probe links between the Malatya case and the Cage Plan, which included an elaborate scheme to attack Muslim-majority Turkey’s religious minorities.

via Compass Direct News.

Before: Alleged torturers and killers of three Christians don’t attend court hearing again.

NOTE: If this is true, then the anti-Islamic Govt’s Cage Plan has not only killed three innocent people but has also made the Govt look like a victim, when it certainly isn’t in terms of religious freedom.

Egypt: cleric bans Facebook

Sheikh Abd Al-Hamid Al-Atrash, former head of the fatwa council at the influential Al-Azhar Institution, based his ruling on a sociological study linking the use of Facebook and other forms of new media with moral corruption.

He called the site a destructive tool that helps form “forbidden relations.”

“When one side in a relationship is working hard, if the other side has lots of free time and hasn’t got much of a conscience, they form illegitimate relationships,” the cleric said.

…A study carried out by the National Center for Social and Criminological Research said that one in every five divorces in Egypt is caused by extra-marital affairs through the Internet.

The report on which Al-Atrash partly based his ruling, found that if one partner feels their life is boring or monotonous, Facebook helps them find someone else, outside the legitimate framework.

“One must not go into this website,” he said. “Moral corruption has spread among young men and women and it’s used to destroy homes and break down families, which could herald the end of Arab and Islamic societies.

“This website and other means of communication such as satellite television are a double-edged sword,” Al-Atrash continued. “They can be used for preaching about Allah and strengthening bonds of affection that Islam encourages, but it can also be used for forbidden love and illegitimate relationships.”

via Egyptian cleric bans Facebook.

But bloggers and opponents consider that this is just a new way to prevent people from having access to websites which are opposed to Mubarak’s regime.

It’s surprising though that this people blame the internet for “extra-marital” affairs. Do they really think that this people would not have those affairs if Internet was not functioning? That’s pretty ridicule, isn’t it?

Terrorism: Why does al-Qaida target planes?

A very interesting article in the Guardian. Here is an excerpt, but you should read it in its entirety:

We have no access to the reasoning of the perpetrators, but it seems safe to suppose that they want to cause as much havoc as possible to as many people and “infidel” countries as possible by the cheapest of means. Crashing a plane fits this double aim very well. International flights involve at least two countries, origin and destination, and the passengers nationalities typically draw in many more. The borderless nature of the target further encourages fearful inferences in more than just the countries directly involved – if they picked Amsterdam–Detroit, next time they could just as well pick Frankfurt–Miami or Dubai–London – which prompts the introduction of costly new security measures.

As for the means, a small amount of explosive can down a plane and just one person, with little or no military training, can carry out the attack. Attacking flights perfectly embodies the rationale of “martyrdom operations”, which – as Ayman al-Zawahiri, bin Ladens deputy, once said – are “the most successful way of inflicting damage against the opponent and the least costly to the mujahideen in casualties”. It took four men to kill 57 people in the London underground attack of 7/7; if Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab had succeeded on the flight he took, he would have killed 290 by himself. In the grim maximisation game of terror, that amounts to supreme efficiency.

  • Bilaal McCloud, 54, of Roxbury, who began cooperating with the FBI in 2005 after he was indicted on charges of being a felon in possession of a semiautomatic pistol and ammunition, told a federal judge, “I felt it was my duty to assist in that way.’’

During the sentencing hearing in US District Court in Boston, prosecutors said McCloud “provided singular and very important information’’ in a significant case, but did not publicly disclose which case it was.

Is Google letting NSA read Gmails?

The NSA and its predecessors also have a long history of spying on huge numbers of people, both at home and abroad. During the Cold War, the agency worked with companies like Western Union to intercept and read millions of telegrams. During the war on terror years, the NSA teamed up with the telecommunications companies to eavesdrop on customers’ phone calls and internet traffic right from the telcos’ switching stations. And even after the agency pledged to clean up its act — and was given wide new latitude to spy on whom they liked – the NSA was still caught “overcollecting” on U.S. citizens. According to The New York Times, the agency even “tried to wiretap a member of Congress without a warrant.”

All of which makes the NSA a particularly untrustworthy partner for a company that is almost wholly reliant on its customers’ trust and goodwill. We all know that Google automatically reads our Gmail and scans our Google Calendars and dives into our Google searches, all in an attempt to put the most relevant ads in front of us. But we’ve tolerated the automated intrusions, because Google’s products are so good, and we believed that the company was sincere in its “don’t be evil” mantra.

That’s a lot harder to swallow, when Google starts working cheek-to-jowl with the overcollectors. The company pinkie-swears that its agreement with the NSA won’t violate the company’s privacy policies or compromise user data (Yeah, sure…).

via ‘Don’t Be Evil,’ Meet ‘Spy on Everyone’: How the NSA Deal Could Kill Google | Danger Room | Wired.com.

So, why so cautious and worried when a known criminal is searched but no one is worried about this? Why NSA is able to monitor everyone’s mail, without evidence we are taking part in criminal deeds, but if a criminal is caught in the act, his rights should be protected?

If you click on the link above you’ll see a very interesting photo related with this issue. We know that Google CEO supported Obama’s campaign. What if Bush would have asked Google to do this? Would they have agreed? Why is so good if Obama’s NSA reads our emails but it was so bad that NSA’s Bush listened to phone conversations of people linked with terrorism?

PS: I’m not for the violation of anyone’s rights, but I keep on considering the lack of protection normal critizens’ data have.

Spoof video of Wilders’ murder causes uproar

In his own party:

The Freedom Party of Dutch anti-Islam MP Geert Wilders has reacted furiously to the trailer of an online movie spoofing a murder attempt on Mr Wilders.

The trailer is available on the website of publicly-funded radio station FunX, which targets a young urban audience. Freedom Party MP Martin Bosma has said his party will ask Media Minister Ronald Plasterk whether “an over-subsidised multi-culti radio station” should be receiving government money if it is putting out “suggestive” movies. A government spokesperson explained to reporters that there is no preventive censorship in the Netherlands. Only after a broadcaster commits an offence can legal action be taken, according to the spokesperson.

The Freedom Party points out that Mr Wilders is living under constant heavy police protection following a number of credible death threats. “It is disgusting to turn that into entertainment.”

Turkey: 16-year-old buried alive in “honor killing”

A 16-year-old girl was buried alive by relatives in southeastern Turkey in a gruesome honor killing carried out because she reportedly befriended boys, the Anatolia news agency reported Thursday.

Acting on a tip, police discovered the body of the girl, identified only as M.M., in a sitting position with her hands tied, in a 2-meter-deep hole dug under a chicken pen outside her house in Kahta, a town in the southeastern province of Adıyaman, the news agency reported.

The body was found in December, around 40 days after M.M. went missing. She is being identified by her initials because she was under the age of 18. Her father and grandfather are suspected in the murder.

The girl had made a complaint to police about her grandfather two months before she went missing, saying that he beat her because she talked to boys.

Autopsy has revealed that she was fully conscious and alive when she was buried. Bastards!

Wilders’ trial: only three witnesses allowed

Wilders had sought three categories of witnesses: 5 free speech experts, 8 Islam experts, and 5 “experiential experts.” This latter category consisted of various Islamists, including Theo van Gogh’s murderer, a Dutch imam who had unsuccessfully tried to sue Wilders, and the Egyptian fundamentalist Yusuf al-Qaradawi.

The court decided to permit only the three Islam experts to testify: Johannes Jansen, Simon Admiraal and Wafa Sultan. In fairness, barring the Islamist witnesses is perhaps excusable. Presumably none would be willing to testify voluntarily, and only one resides freely in the Netherlands. What is much more troubling is the court’s refusal to hear from any of Wilders’ five free speech experts – all of whom would likely have appeared voluntarily.

Certainly troubling but not striking. Unfortunately, not good prospects for Wilders…

Iran: Kermanshahi, Human Rights Activist, Arrested

Leading Human Rights Activist Arrested : United4Iran

The International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran denounced the arrest today of Kaveh Ghasemi Kermanshahi, a leading human rights activist, member of the Central Council of the Human Rights Organization of Kurdistan, and journalist.

“Kermanshahi is one of the most important sources of objective human rights information and analysis in Iran, and one of the few still courageously working to document, in a scientific way, the deprivation of human rights there,” stated Hadi Ghaemi, a spokesperson for the Campaign.

“Kaveh has committed no crime, and his arrest is an apparent attempt to shield the authorities from scrutiny ahead of expected protests on 11 February,” he added.

Just following with the Islamist Govt’s campaign against the opposition, held these last days. Has any Government protested yet?

Saudi Arabia: 12-year-old girl drops divorce requests from 80-year-old husband

gulfnews : 12-year-old Saudi girl drops divorce requests: reports

A 12-year-old Saudi girl has dropped her petition to divorce an 80-year-old man her father forced to marry in exchange for a dowry, according to media reports on Tuesday.

The girl and her mother reportedly withdrew the case on Monday in a court in Buraidah in Al Qasim province.

The girl told the court that her marriage to the man was done with her agreement, according to Okaz newspaper. [Yeah, sure... ]

According to reports, the girl’s father, who is separated from her mother, arranged her marriage to the 80-year-old in exchange for a dowry payment of $22,667 (Dh83,414).

Apalling: selling a little girl our of money without her consent and to an 80-year-old man! What a cruel thing to do!!

France: Citizenship will be denied to Moroccan man who forces wife to wear niqab

France denies citizenship to Moroccan man who forces wife to wear full veil | World news | guardian.co.uk

France is to refuse to grant citizenship to a Moroccan man who forces his wife to wear the full veil, arguing that his adherence to a strict strand of Islam is incompatible with the country’s values, the immigration minister said today.

Eric Besson said he had signed a decree explaining that the man, whose identity was not made public, was being denied citizenship because his behaviour towards his French wife (!!) contravened secularism and women’s rights.

It emerged during the inquiry and the interview process that this person forced his wife to wear the full veil, deprived her of freedom of movement with her face exposed and rejected the principles of secularism and equality between men and women,” Besson said in a statement.

Really good news!!

Iran: “Iranian revolution hasn’t achieved its goals”, Moussavi says

BBC News – Iran’s Mousavi says he will continue fight for reform

He said he no longer believed, as he once did, “that the revolution had removed all those structures which could lead to totalitarianism and dictatorship”.

Today, one can identify both elements and foundations which produce dictatorship as well as resistance against returning to this dictatorship,” he said.

“Stifling the media, filling the prisons and brutally killing people who peacefully demand their rights in the streets indicate the roots of tyranny and dictatorship remain from the monarchist era. I don’t believe that the revolution achieved its goals,” Mr Mousavi added.

As you know, Moussavi is not really someone I trust, being a creature of the Islamist dictatorship. I don’t think he would be better, if given the chance, than Rafsanjani, for example. What he says presently is true: Iran is a terrible dictatorship, but isn’t it strange that it has took him so long to label Iranian regime as it really is, a dictatorship?

He goes on to say that that the Iranian revolution hasn’t achieved its goals. So one should ask what Revolution’s goals were. Khomeini just wrote what he thought a good Government was in his book Islamic Government: Authority of the Jurist (written in 1970s after several lectures given over those years):

  • That the laws of society should be made up only of the laws of God (Sharia), which cover “all human affairs” and “provide instruction and establish norms” for every “topic” in “human life.” [42]
  • Since Shariah, or Islamic law, is the proper law, those holding government posts should have knowledge of Sharia. Since Islamic jurists or faqih have studied and are the most knowledgeable in Sharia, the country’s ruler should be a faqih who “surpasses all others in knowledge” of Islamic law and justice,[43] (known as a marja’), as well as having intelligence and administrative ability. Rule by monarchs and/or assemblies of “those claiming to be representatives of the majority of the people” (i.e. elected parliaments and legislatures) has been proclaimed “wrong” by Islam.[44]
  • This system of clerical rule is necessary to prevent injustice, corruption, oppression by the powerful over the poor and weak, innovation and deviation of Islam and Sharia law; and also to destroy anti-Islamic influence and conspiracies by non-Muslim foreign powers.[45]

If you have this leader as leader of your revolution, you can’t seriously say the Revolution hasn’t achieved its goals. Unhappily, it certainly has.

Two bloggers and members of the “Committee of Human Rights” (Chrr), Mehrdad Rahimi and Kouhyar Goudarzi (photographed above: Goudarzi, left, and Rahimi, right) have been accused of wanting to wage “a war against God,” and charged as being “Mohareb” (enemies of God). Their charges are similar to those against the two men who were executed this week in Tehran.Reporters without Borders writes other bloggers who are members of the committee have also been arrested in recent weeks. They are Parisa Kakei, who was arrested on January 2; Shiva Nazar Ahari on December 24; and Said Kanaki and Said Jalali on December 1. They are all still being held in Section 209 of Tehran’s notorious Evin prison and are being subjected to considerable pressure to name other members of the committee and to call for it to be disbanded.
