NK: Dear Leader pardons US journalists after Clinton’s meeting

North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-Il pardoned two jailed U.S. journalists , Laura Ling and Euna Lee today, just hours after former President Bill Clinton arrived in the country to press for their release

via Bill Clinton Meets North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Il to Discuss Detained Journalists – ABC News.

North Korea announced Tuesday that it had pardoned two detained American journalists, hours after former president Bill Clinton met in Pyongyang with reclusive dictator Kim Jong Il as part of an unannounced and highly unusual diplomatic mission to win their freedom.

No, I am not going to do easy jokes about Clinton’s meeting with NK Dear Leader…. But I continue asking me what the Dear Leader has asked in return.

Netherlands: the city is a symbol of “Islamized” Europe

An excerpt:

Chris Ripke is a well-known artist in the city. His studio is near a mosque in Insuindestraat. Shocked in 2004 by the murder of director Theo Van Gogh by an Dutch Islamist, Chris decided to paint an angel on wall of his studio and the biblical commandment “Gij zult niet doden,” thou shalt not kill. His neighbors at the mosque found the words “offensive,” and called the mayor of Rotterdam at the time, the liberal Ivo Opstelten. The mayor ordered the police to erase the painting, because it was “racist.” Wim Nottroth, a television journalist, camped out on the spot in protest. The police arrested him, and his film was destroyed. Ephimenco did the same in his own window: “I put up a big white sheet with the biblical commandment. Photographers came, and the radio. If you can no longer write ‘do not kill’ in this country, then you are saying that we are all in prison. It is like apartheid, whites living with whites and blacks with blacks. There is a great chill. Islamism wants to change the structure of the country.” For Ephimenco, part of the problem is the de-Christianization of society. “When I arrived here, during the 1960′s, religion was dying, a unique event in Europe, a collective de-Christianization. Then the Muslims brought religion back to the center of social life. Aided by the anti-Christian elite.”

Let’s go for a stroll through the Islamized neighborhoods. In Oude Westen there are only Arabs, women clothed from head to foot, ethnic foods shops, Islamic restaurants, and shopping centers with Arabic music. “Ten years ago, you didn’t see all these headscarves,” Ephimenco says. Behind his house, in a flourishing middle class area with two-story houses, there is an Islamized neighborhood. There are Muslim signs everywhere. “Look at all of those Turkish flags, over there is an important church, but it’s empty, no one goes there anymore.” In the middle of one square stands a mosque with Arabic writing outside. “That used to be a church.” Not far from here is the most beautiful monument in Rotterdam. It is a small granite statue of Pim Fortuyn. Beneath the gleaming bronze head, the mouth saying his last words on behalf of freedom of speech, there is written in Latin: “Loquendi libertatem custodiamus,” let us safeguard the right to speak. Every day, someone places flowers there.

Boyd: Jihadi slogan of the month

I love jihad. I love to stand there and fight for the sake of Allah,” a voice identified as Boyd said on a recording played in the federal courtroom. “Muslims must be protected at all costs.”

But he told his neighbour that “Muslims are very peaceful people“.

A very telling example of double speaking. Taqqiya.

Burma: do they have the nuclear bomb?

It would be really worrying if that’s the case.

It has been the subject of much speculation over the last few months but on Monday Burmese defectors seemed to confirm fears that the country’s military regime has collaborated in recent years with North Korea and Russia to develop a reactor capable of producing one nuclear bomb a year by 2014.

What would be then the reaction of the rest of the world?

NK: Bill Clinton meets Dear Leader

He congratulated Kim on his birthday and:

Clinton “courteously conveyed a verbal message” to Kim from U.S. President Barack Obama, North Korea’s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported. But White House spokesman Robert Gibbs denied that Clinton was carrying any message from the Obama administration.

via Report: Bill Clinton meets with North Korean leader – The CNN Wire – CNN.com Blogs.

Clinton said (and the White House confirmed) his purpose was to “negotiate the release of two US journalists”, who are:

…  Laura Ling and Euna Lee, both reporters for California-based Current TV, a media venture launched by Clinton’s Vice President Al Gore.

(…) Lee and Ling were arrested while reporting on the border between North Korea and China and sentenced in June to 12 years in prison on charges of entering the country illegally to conduct a smear campaign.

I wonder if they have taken so much trouble for a non-leftist journalist. But, of course, I wish him a lot of luck. Though, what are they going to offer Kim in exchange of the journalists?

Australia: terror plot uncovered

“Those arrested are reported to include Australian nationals of Somali and Lebanese descent”.“The Australian newspaper reported the detainees were Islamist extremists who had planned to launch a suicide attack on an Australian Army base. The men were allegedly planning to use automatic weapons to kill as many soldiers as possible before killing themselves, the newspaper reported“.

The investigation began after the police listened to a conversation held by a Lebanese man in his 30s and a Somalian. Both of them wanted to go to Somalia and become “warriors with al-Shabaab”. The Lebanese man’s phone conversations were being monitored after espousing extremist viewes at his local mosque.

Australia’s security agencies had suspected for several years there were illegal links between small pockets of the nation’s 16,000-strong Somali community and the extremists in their war-torn homeland.

But the AFP and ASIO had never been able to prove the links, and an AFP investigation called Operation Rochester in 2007 petered out after no illegal connections were identified.

The plotters sought “religious approval” for the terrorist attack and one of them:

During his brief court appearance he sat behind a window and refused to stand to acknowledge the magistrate because, as his lawyer explained, his religious beliefs meant he felt he should only stand for God and not a man.

This guy should be sex changed and sent without a burka to an al-Shabab’s taken city. Then he will stand for the Shariah god…

Read MK’s post. The thing that surprised me was how much they told us today about the global jihad that is now threatening us on our very own soil. (…) If I were just some average aussie watching the news, I’m sure I’d be like, huh, al-who, jihad across the globe, there are that many immigrants here from Somalia, recruiting here in Australia, what the heck is going on, why didn’t they tell us about all this before?. Hope that in two-months time the information will be the same, precisely making people alert on the long-run, not just when a plot has been uncovered or anything worse has happened.

Pakistan: the Islamists are the culprits!

Blasphemy Law has nothing to do…

Under Pakistan’s strict blasphemy laws, defilement of Islam’s holy book is punishable by life imprisonment. Human rights campaigners say the law is frequently abused to settle personal scores or exploit communal tensions.

Punjab’s law minister, Rana Sanaullah, said initial investigations had debunked the Qur’an defilement theory and 12 people had been arrested. “This is not the work of Muslims. A group of extremists have exploited the situation,” he told a group of Christians after funeral prayers for one of the dead yesterday.

even when reality shows otherwise:

Christians and other minority religious groups are especially vulnerable to a blasphemy law that carries the death penalty for derogatory remarks or any other action against Islam, the Quran or the Prophet Muhammad.

Haven’t seen Ban Ki-Moon, Obama, George Galloway and others worried by the Muslim world, worried by these murders. Haven’t seen an international outrage at these deaths. Haven’t seen Governments and MSM asking Pakistan to end with the Blasphemy Law….

Video thanks to Ekawaaz:

As he says, no one cares and no one bothers! Very sad. And shameful.

Afghanistan: Will Rasmussen’s shift of policy be what NATO really needs?

Taliban return to Kunduz after German military offensive. One would have to think what are these offensives done for. Abdul Wahid Omarkehl, administrative chief in the Char Darah district in Kunduz province, has said:

“When the operation began, the leaders of the Taliban fled to neighboring provinces and other areas. Others simply hid their weapons and blended in with the local population,” said Abdul Wahid Omarkehl, administrative chief in the Char Darah district in Kunduz province. “Now, they have just taken their weapons back out again and those who fled to neighboring provinces have come back after the end of the operation.

We will see how Danish ex-PM Rasmussen manages as NATO Secretary General. He has expressly named Afghanistan’s stability and the relationship with Russia as top priorities of the organization. He is also hoping to improve relations with the countries around the Mediterranean and in the Middle East, although probably his defence of Danish freedom of expression in the Danish cartoons’ affair will make things difficult. His disposition to speak with “moderate Talibans” (who are those), while at the same time shifting the policy in the country to support Human Rights (after passing a Constitution based on ShariahLaw?) can’t be considered as coherent. But are nonetheless, similar to those uttered by French FM Kouchner, by British FM Milliband, Danish Army (as most Danes think the war is unwinnable), US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or the Obama Administration, but totally against Kai Eide, special representative for Afghanistan of UNSG Ban Ki-Moon, who has voiced his opinion for a total negotiation with the Taliban, including Mullah Omar, because you have to be “ambitious” (and suicidal, too…My God….).

My opinion on this “negotiation” is summarised by these words from Telegraph’s Nile Gardiner:

British, American, Canadian and other NATO troops are not dying on the battlefields of south Asia to facilitate the return of a medieval-style government steeped in barbarism where women are treated as fourth-class citizens and individual liberty is non-existent. It would be only a matter of time before an Afghanistan dominated by “moderate” Taliban returned to its old position as a safe haven for al-Qaeda to launch attacks against New York, Washington or London.

Unluckily, it looks like politicians don’t see it that way.

Venezuela: Chavista thugs call for murder of opposition blogger***

While Moratinos states that the “level of freedom of expression in Venezuela is satisfactory” (a very striking statement, considering the new law to “regulate freedom of expression), in Venezuela they are calling to murder journalists-bloggers opposed to Chávez. One chavista web forum has several messages calling for the murder of libertarian journalist Martha Colmenares: “If you see this stupid journalist walking along the streets, kill her“, “if you see her, don’t even hesitate to shoot, she is highly dangerous“, writes a user. The first message was written on July 22nd and the second on July 27th, without being erased by the web’s managers.

The web, which is named “aporrealos.com” (“beat them“), has a banner on its header telling every user: “All hasty, racist or propaganda messages will be erased”.

Even if the main objective of this blog is not Venezuela’s Chávez, this is the kind of thing that won’t appear on CNN but that really show what’s the real situation of this country. The Guardian reports that a Venezuelan TV station has been stormed by supporters of Hugo Chávez. You can see the video here:

more about “Venezuelan TV station is stormed by s…“, posted with vodpod

Even if Moratinos is considered an idiot by members of his own family, this is not a question of being stupid. It’s a question of complicity with a dictator. (is he going to do anything about the Spanish nationals living there whose lands have been stolen by Chavista thugs?).

Two of Globovision’s assailants were hurt in the attack (against unarmed people!). The group is called “Venezuelan Patriotic Union“, a Chavista group leadered by Lina Ron, known widely because of an act in front of UN Embassy in Caracas after Sept. 11 and the violent, intimidating and aggressive pacific” invasion of the Archbishop’s residence on 2008. She is known also for the motto: “With Chávez, everything; without Chávez, lead“. Chávez has openly critisized her, but as he has done nothing to put an end to her group or to their methods (they are supporting him!), they continue without any Government’s interference.

*Enterate Caracas reports that no responsible of the attack has been detained and asks who authorised the attack. Apparently is someone very near the Minister Diosdado Cabello.

*The Carnival of Latin America and the Caribbean has more aboout this attack against Globovisión.

*Lina Roy has been arrested: Chávez has said that “she is really not considering the effects of her acts, because in the end her acts are blamed on the Bolivarian Revolution“. But that now she is going to suffer the Law… mainly because she is a bad publicity for Chávez…

Al-Qaeda: Al-Zawahiri calls for the destruction of Israel

He accused Obama of “supporting a Palestinian State that would do the bidding of the Israelis”. He added:

Israel is a crime that needs to be wiped out,” said al-Zawahiri, who likened the policies of the current U.S. president to those of his predecessor, George W. Bush. “The promises of the two states and ending the settlements were made by Bush, so what’s new? This is the continuation of the same Zionist crusader crime against Muslims since the end of World War II.”

Read the Islamic genocide Plan. No changes really.

AQ has also given Obama Conditions for Truce: “The minimum the mujahideen would accept (includes) … the exit of infidel troops from all of the land of Islam and an end to stealing Muslims’ wealth under the threat of military power.” Wow, how generous…

By the way, that part about stealing Muslim wealth “under the threat of military power”, can’t be really considered as what they do under the name of “Islamic jizya“?
