‘La naturaleza atroz de este asesinato apunta a que se trata de un homicidio de honor’, manifestó Phyllis Chesler, profesora de psicología del Richmond College de la Universidad de Nueva York.

Según Elizabeth DiPirro, la mujer, madre de dos niños, había presentado una petición de divorcio de su esposo y había conseguido un edicto de protección que prohibía a Hassan acercarse al hogar.

‘Lo que hizo (su mujer) era para el hombre sinónimo de un castigo capital. En su cultura eso no se permite’, añadió Chesler.

‘Sin duda, tiene todas las características’ (de un asesinato por una cuestión de honor), dijo a Fox News, Zuhdi Jasser, fundador del Foro Americano Islámico para la Democracia.

Este especialista agregó que ‘el aspecto más peligroso de este caso es decir simplemente que se trata de violencia doméstica‘.

The New English Review enlaza al Corriere della Sera que retrata la frialdad del asesino. Una vez que la mató  fue a la comisaría de policía y dijo “Mi mujer está muerta. Está en Bridges TV“.

“Mi mujer está muerta“.NO dijo “He matado a mi mujer“. La fiscal ha dicho que él es un “tipo vicioso y sin remordimientos”. Lo de menos en este caso es su aspecto físico.

Tenían dos niños: de 4 y 6 años. Qué horror: no sólo por su muerte si no también por su vida.

Pakistan: dealing with the Taliban

Two days ago I wrote about the condition of the Talibans to ending violence (implementing Shariah Law) had been accepted by the Pakistani Government. The latter insists that this can’t be seen as a “sign of the Government’s weakness”. No, I would only consider that possibility is the Government and the Taliban were the same… Are they?

Pakistani President Asif  Zardari has said he will sign an order implementing Sharia law in Swat valley only after peace has been fully reached there.

President Zardari’s spokesman said that this would require the laying down of arms by Islamic militants.

Meanwhile, pro-Taleban cleric Sufi Mohammad has arrived in the Swat valley to try to convince local Taleban leaders to agree to the deal (they were the ones who asked for Sharia Law to be implemented and now they have to be convinced about laying down their weapons? Are they kidding?).

Locals have largely welcomed it but critics say it is unacceptable (Gee, just the same… weren’t they the ones who asked for Sharia Law to be implemented. Another example of reality: terrorists are never going to stop asking if they see they can obtain more. They have obtained this without many insistence, so they are going to ask for more. And remember they asked for the Sharia Law to abrogate ALL civil laws).

Sufi Mohammad is the father-in-law of Maulana Fazlullah, the current head of the Taleban in Swat (everything is done inside the family).

(…) They believe introducing a separate system of justice sets a dangerous precedent for other militias in parts of Pakistan.

Information Minister Sherry Rehman denied the government had made any “concession”.

“It is in no way a sign of the state’s weakness. The public will of the population of the Swat region is at the centre of all efforts and it should be taken into account while debating the merits of this agreement,” she said (no, of course not, it’s a sign of the strenght of the Government. This woman is absolutely idiot) .

(…) The NWFP government now hopes that a grand jirga (council) led by Sufi Mohammad will be able to persuade all the factions to comply.

The Taleban have said they will examine the document before ending hostilities permanently.

More than 1,000 civilians have died in shelling by the army or from beheadings sanctioned by the Taleban. Thousands more have been displaced.

“From the very beginning, I have viewed democracy as a system imposed on us by the infidels. Islam does not allow democracy or elections,” he told Deutsche Presse-Agentur in an interview held a few days before the government accepted his demand of enforcing sharia in the region.

Things can get even more complicated after the murder of a journalist in Swat:

Khankhel, 28, was kidnapped while covering the peace rally and his bullet-riddled body was found a few hours later.

(…)The journalist’s body was found in the nearby area of Dedpani. According to witnesses, he had been shot 12 times. His hands and feet had been tied.

(…)

It said in a statement: “A journalist has become the first victim after the peace deal in Swat, which is most alarming.”

It called on the government to investigate the murder and punish those involved.

President Asif Ali Zardari has vowed to bring those responsible to justice.

A Taleban spokesman said it was “the work of those forces who want to sabotage peace efforts”.

Hundreds of journalists held demonstrations in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi.

In Islamabad, demonstrators chanted anti-government slogans and said Khankhel’s sacrifice would not go in vain.

In Lahore, reporters and photographers marched to the provincial legislature and called for more protection to be given to journalists.

A very bad sign indeed…

Pakistan: "el acuerdo con los talibanes no puede considerarse como una muestra de debilidad del Gobierno"

El otro día ya escribí sobre que Paquistán había cumplido con la petición de los talibanes de imponer la Sharia en el valle de Swat “para que dejaran la violencia . Ahora el Gobierno dice que eso “no es una muestra” de su propia debilidad.

El portavoz del Presidente Zardari dijo que (el acuerdo) requerirá que los militantes islámicos dejen las armas.

Mientras, el clérigo pro-talibán Sufi Mohammad ha llegado al valle de Swat para intentar (ojo, sólo intentar, pero ¿no lo habían pedido?) convencer a los líderes talibanes de que acepten su acuerdo.

Los locales han dado una gran bienvenida pero los críticos dicen que es inaceptable (je, insisto pero ¿no lo habían pedido?).

Sufi Mohammad es el suegro de Maulana Fazlullah, el actual líder de los talibanes en Swat.

(…) Creen que introducir un sistema separado de justicia establece un peligroso precedente para otras milicias en partes de Paquistán.

La Ministra de Información Sherry Rehman negó que el gobierno haya hecho ninguna concesión.

“NO es de ninguna manera un símbolo de la debilidad del estado. La voluntad pública de la población de la región de Swat está en el centro de todos los esfuerzos y debe ser tenida en cuenta, mientras se debaten los méritos de este acuerdo,” dijo.

(…) El Gobierno de Paquistán espera ahora que una gran jirga (consejo) dirigida por Sufi Mohammad pueda persuadir a todas las facciones a que cumplan este acuerdo.

Los Talibanes han dicho que examinarán el documento antes de terminar con las hostilidades de forma permanente.

Más de 1000 civiles han muerto en encuentros con el ejército o degollados de forma legal por los talibanes. Además hay miles desplazados.

The New English Review tiene las manifestaciones  de Sufi Mohammed a Deutsche Presse-Agentur.En ellas señala que “odia la democracia porque es un sistema que les han impuesto los extranjeros“, que “el Islam no permite la democracia ni las elecciones” y que “quiere la supremacía del Islam sobre todo el mundo“.

Sólamente el acuerdo no sería una “muestra de debilidad” si el Gobierno paquistaní fueran los talibanes que son quienes han puesto las condiciones y a quienes básicamente favorece este acuerdo. Mediante la Sharia podrán seguir imponiendo la pena de muerte en los casos en los que así lo establezca. Sólo que ahora sólo esa será la Ley y no habrá norma superior ni tribunal superior.

El bloguero indio Ekawaaz tiene un post muy interesante al respecto (en inglés).

Pero las cosas pueden ponerse aún más complicadas después del asesinato de un periodista horas después de su secuestro. Khankhel tenía 28 años y trabajaba para Geo TV para cubrir el acuerdo con los talibanes. Su cuerpo fue encontrado atado de pies y manos y con 12 tiros en la cabeza. Los talibanes han culpado a “los que no quieren que el acuerdo salga bien”, el Presidente Zardari ha jurado qeu llevará a los culpables a la justicia y los periodistas se han manifestado culpando al gobierno por no proteger a los de su profesión.

El acuerdo no puede comenzar peor…

Turquía: Librería cristiana atacada por "vándalos" mientras los "estudiosos" se reúnen para convocar una "jihad global" contra Israel

Me referí hace pocas semanas aquí a la des-ataturkización de Turquía, es decir, en suma a la “reislamistación” , haciendo referencia al proceso contra un supuesto golpe de Estado contra el Gobierno de Erdogan y a la judeofobia creciente, alentada por el partido de este último, el AKP. Bien pues aquí tenemos los resultados:

Siguiendo las amenazas de los nacionalistas musulmanes, una librería de la Sociedad Bíblica turca en la ciudad sureña de Adana fue atacada por vándalos la segunda vez en una semana el jueves (12 de febrero).

La grabación de la cámara de seguridad muestra a dos jóvenes atcando el escaparate de la librería Soz Kitapevi, dando patadas y rompiendo el cristal tanto en la ventana como en la puerta. El marco de la puerta también fue dañado.

El empleado de la Librería Dogan Simsek descubrió el daño cuando llegó al día siguiente a abrir la tienda. Describió la grabación del ataque, que tuvo lugar a las 8:19 de la mañana, a Compass Direct.

“Vinieron hacia la tienda como si fuera su objetivo,” dijo. “La atacaron a sangre fría, y después se fueron como si nada hubiera pasado.”

La cámara de seguridad no capturó claramente las caras de ninguno de los jóvenes, y la policía está todavía intentando identificar a los perpetradores.

Durante el primer ataque el 7 de febrero, rompieron el cristal de la puerta de entrada y estropearon la cámara de seguridad. Ambos han sido reparados desde entonces.

En un hall lleno musulmanes suníes conservadores y estudiosos del Islam, en un hotel cerca del Aeropuerto Ataturk de Estambul, ponente tras ponente llamaron a la jihad contra Israel en apoyo de Hamas.

Que escogieran Turquía es significativo. Los árabes más duros pusieron rápidamente aparte sus diferencias históricas con los turcos. Como dijo un organizador: “durante los pasados 100 años, las relaciones han sido muy pocas pero Palestina nos ha unido”.

Muchos delegados alabaron la protesta del Primer Ministro turco Recep Tayyip Erdogan, que se fue violentamente del debate en Davos sobre Gaza hace dos semanas.

La conferencia, llamada de la “Campaña Global Anti-Agresión”, dio ímpetu a los clérigos suníes preocupados por el creciente poder de Hizbulá,el movimiento chií apoyado por Irán, que alcanzó importancia internacional como consecuencia de su propia guerra contra Israel en 2006.

“Gaza es un regalo,” el estudioso religioso saudí Mohsen al-Awajy  me dijo. Él y otros estudiosos repetidamente se refiririeron a la guerra en Gaza como “una victoria”.

“Gaza,” continuó, “nos da poder, resuelve nuestras diferencias. Estamos ahora unidos en un frente común contra el sionismo”.”

Unidos con Hamas, un grupo terrorista. Maravilloso: qué calidad tiene nuestro aliado en la Alianza de Contradicciones Civilizaciones..

No podía haber elegido mejor momento Geert Wilders para decir que Turquía “nunca jamás” entrará en la Unión Europea .

Turkey: a Christian bookshop is vandalised while several "Islamic scholars" call for "Global Jihad" against Israel

I have already written about the Islamisation in Turkey here, and the two signs we have here are just a consequence of this des-”Ataturkization” that is going on in Turkey. So we have here an attack against a Christian bookshop, which is in fact the second in a week:

Following threats from Muslim nationalists, a Turkish Bible Society bookshop in the southern city of Adana was vandalized for the second time in a week on Thursday (Feb. 12).

Security camera footage shows two youths attacking the storefront of the Soz Kitapevi bookshop, kicking and smashing glass in both the window and the door. The door frame was also damaged.

Bookshop employee Dogan Simsek discovered the damage when he arrived to open the shop. He described security footage of the attack, which took place at 8:19 a.m., to Compass.

“They came at it like a target,” he said. “They attacked in a very cold-blooded manner, and then they walked away as if nothing had happened.”

The security camera did not clearly capture the faces of either youth, and police are still attempting to identify the perpetrators.

During the first attack on Feb. 7, the glass of the front door was smashed and the security camera mangled. Both have since been repaired.

In a hall crowded with conservative Sunni Muslim sheikhs and scholars, in a hotel close to Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport speaker after speaker called for jihad against Israel in support of Hamas.

The choice of Turkey was significant. Arab hardliners were keen to put aside historic differences with the Turks.

As one organiser put it: “During the past 100 years relations have been strained but Palestine has brought us together.“

Many delegates spoke appreciatively of the protest by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who stormed out of a Davos debate on Gaza two weeks ago.

The conference, dubbed the Global Anti-Aggression Campaign, also gave impetus to Sunni clerics concerned about the growing power of Hezbollah, the Shia movement backed by Iran, which rose to international prominence in its own war with Israel in 2006.

“Gaza is a gift,” the Saudi religious scholar Mohsen al-Awajy told me. He and other delegates repeatedly referred to the Gaza war as “a victory”.

“Gaza,” he continued, “gives us power, it solves our differences. We are all now in a unified front against Zionism.”

And this is our ally in the Alliance of the Uncivilised Civilizations. Doesn’t seem very trustful…

Geert Wilders couldn’t really have chosen a better moment to say that “Turkey never ever” can enter the EU.

Paquistán: lechero cristiano es asesinado por sus empleadores musulmanes porque les pidió su sueldo

Un lechero cristiano ha sido asesinado en Paquistán después de pedir a sus empleadores musulmanes,según International Christian Concern.
Ashraf Masih, de 30 años, del pueblo de Shajwal fue empleado hace dos meses por tres hombres musulmanes para recoger la leche de las granjas y casas vecinas.
En Enero, después de trabajar durante un mes, Ashref vino a recoger su sueldo. Pero sus empleados, los hermanos Muhammad Arfan, Muhammad Nadeem y su primo Muhammad Imran, le deijeron que le pagarían los dos meses después de un mes más.
Con la necesidad de mantener a su familia acuciándole, Ashraf volvió el 1 de febrero y otra vez pidió que la pagaran su salario.
Los tres musulmanes respondieron enfadados a la demanda de Ashraf, diciéndole, “Eres un Esai [un término despectivo para los cristianos] y pides tu paga de los musulmanes, eres muy valiente. Aquí te vamos a dar tu final. Luego puedes pedirle a tu Esa [Cristo], que ya te dará todo.”
Los tres hombres mataron a Ashraf y huyeron del lugar.

Pakistan: Christian milkman murdered by Muslim employers

A Christian milkman has been murdered in Pakistan after demanding his pay cheque from his Muslim employers, according to International Christian Concern.

Ashraf Masih, 30, from the village of Shajwal was hired two months ago by three Muslim men to collect milk from neighbouring farms and houses.

In January, after working for one month Ashraf came to collect his wages. However his employers, brothers Muhammad Arfan, Muhammad Nadeem and their nephew Muhammad Imran, said that they would pay him two months wages after one more month.

With the need to support his family becoming more urgent, Ashraf returned on 1 February and again demanded his wages.

The three Muslims reportedly responded angrily to Ashraf’s request, saying, “You are Esai [a derogatory term for Christians] and you demanded your pay from Muslims, what courage you have. We will finish you right now. Then go to your Esa [Christ], He will give you everything.”

The three men then killed Ashraf and fled the scene.

Did they think he was a slave? There is nothing said in the press release, but I just can’t truly comment this. It’s so shameful and outrageous…

Gran Bretaña: Nueve detenidos en Gran Bretaña por terrorismo que participaban en un convoy de ayuda humanitaria en Gaza

Nueve hombres fueron detenidos  en la noche del viernes en una carretera de Lancashire, en el norte de Inglaterra, en una operación antiterrorista, informaron ayer las autoridades policiales británicas. Todos viajaban en un convoy de ayuda de organizaciones no gubernamentales destinadas en Gaza.


Seis de los detenidos fueron puestos en libertad poco después sin cargos, pero los otros tres permanecían ayer en dependencias policiales.


La operación fue llevada a cabo conjuntamente por miembros de la policía de Lancashire y de la Unidad Antiterrorista del noroeste de Inglaterra.


En las fotos difundidas por la policía aparecen varios coches policiales rodeando dos furgonetas, una de las cuales lleva una imagen de una bandera palestina y la otra, varias pegatinas con las leyendas «Detened el asesinato de niños», «Palestina libre» y «De Blackburn (UK) a Gaza». Según las primeras investigaciones, la operación tiene que ver con una potencial amenaza terrorista fuera del Reino Unido.

Y vinculados al ex-diputado laborista (y payaso oficial…) George Galloway, porque la comitiva estaba organizada por él. Encima en su web se enlaza a un artículo de The Guardian que “el Gobierno británico está criminalizando el legítimamente disentir, porque se ha detenido a 9 personas pero luego se han soltado a 6 y claro, enseguida se ha dicho que estaban vinculados a Galloway porque se opuso al Gobierno laborista”. NO hijo, se dice porque quedan 3 detenidos y los vínculos familiares de Galloway hacen que tengan simpatías personales con la causa palestina. Oh y también estaba en la nómina de Saddam (je, anti-guerra… ), llegando éste último a decir que no podían pagarle más:

 Galloway shares a Glasgow flat with wife Aminah Abu-Zayyhad (ahora ex-mujer, le acusó de que había estado viendo a otras mujeres ), a niece of PLO chief Yasser Arafat.

POr cierto, que este hombre tiene tiempo de participar en el Gran Hermano británico (es el calvo vestido de rojo… quién le habrá propuesto este modelito…):

UK: 9 detained on terrorism charges while travelling in a pro-Gaza aid convoy

And linked to George Galloway, that leading anti-war campaigner, too:

Three men arrested by counter-terrorism police on a motorway were allegedly planning to leave Britain as part of a £1million aid convoy to Gaza, which was organised by former Labour MP George Galloway.

Security sources say the men aged 26, 29 and 36 from Burnley, Lancashire, had been under surveillance for two months in an operation connected to a potential threat of terrorism in the Middle East.

Nine men were arrested initially on Friday night as they drove west in two vans on the M65 near Preston. Six were later released without charge.

One of the two vans surrounded by police vehicles bore an image of the Palestinian flag on its side. The other had signs saying Stop Killing Children, Free Palestine and From Blackburn (UK) to Gaza.

This is by no means something strange. In the demonstrations against Operation Cast Lead, you can see him just behind this “leading cleric” who shouts “Today we are all Hamas” y “Allahu Akbar”, among other interesting things.

USA: Afghan consulate official beat his wife for 15 straight hours

Mohammed Fagirad, 30, a vice consul at the Afghanistan Consulate, brutalized his wife inside their Flushing home from about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday until nearly midnight, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.

During the attack, Fagirad bit, slapped, choked and beat the 22-year-old woman with a belt, pushed her down a flight of stairs and sat on her chest, prosecutors said.

At one point, prosecutors said, Fagirad threw his wife up against a wall, held her there by the neck and then let her drop to the floor, where he beat her with a belt.

Fagirad told police his “wife was a dog and he was going to treat her like a dog,” prosecutors said.

When Fagirad left the home, his wife fled and went to the 109th Precinct stationhouse, where she filed a domestic violence report, prosecutors said. She then returned home.

When Fagirad returned, he demanded his wife’s cell phone and called police to file a counterclaim, prosecutors said….

EEUU: Vice-cónsul afgano pega a su mujer durante 15 horas

“Porque es un perro y la voy a tratar como tal”, como declaró a la policía. Hmm, qué profundo amollll:

Mohammed Fagirad, 30, un vice-cónsul del Consulado afgano, brutalizó a su esposa dentro de su casa de Flushing desde las 8 y media de la mañana del miércoles hasta cerca de la medianoches,según el Fiscal del Distrito de Queens Richard Brown.
Durante el ataque, Fagirad, mordió, dió tortazos, retorció y pegó a su mujer de 22 años con un cinturón, la tiró por las escaleras y se sentó en su pecho, según los fiscales.
Después, según los fiscales, Fagirad la tiró contra la pared, la sostuvo así agarrada del cuello  y luego la tiró al suelo, donde la pegó con un cinturón.
Fagirad dijo a la policía que “su mujer era un perro y que la iba a tratar como tal”, dijeron los fiscales.
Cuando Fagirad salió de casa,su mujer se escapó y puso una denuncia por violencia doméstica y volvió a casa.
Cuando Fagirad volvió, pidió a su mujer su teléfono móvil y llamó a la policía para retirar la denuncia, dijeron los fiscales….

¡Qué bien la protegió! Si es que era una rebelde y claro, ¿qué podía hacer ante eso? Pues tratarla como un perro y zurrarla pero bien.  De este además no se puede decir que fuera un pobre hombre inculto y alejado de la civilización. Todo lo contrario: diplomático, vivía en Nueva York y no era precisamente viejo.

Aquí tenéis la fundamentación  clerical islámica sobre el maltrato doméstico:

Creo que yo sería del tipo “ignora a este marido con que Alá te ha mal… digo, bendecido” (es que dan un dolor de cabeza y provocan un aburrimiento sólo de oírles…) o “desobediente a la que hay que pegar a ver si obedece“… Geee…

Valgan como muestra… aunque hay bastantes más que ya iré poniendo. Y es que claro, vuelvo a repetir, la mujer se lo merece, si no por ella, porque él ha sido educado por otra mujer (no te digo…).

Las razones peregrinas para justificar el maltrato doméstico… Que sí, que también hay mujeres que maltratan a su marido -está mal en todos los casos y el que unos lo hagan no justifica el que las otras también ni viceversa, que parecemos todos parvularios…-, pero ¿a que no hay ninguna religión que dice que la mujer puede pegarles lo que quiera porque así lo dijo no-sé-quién en una revelación cuando su marido había protestado porque no sabía hacer la comida? “Hmm, sí, en verdad te digo que me ha dicho el Dios de la Comida Preparada que, si no te lo comes sin rechistar, voy a pegarte con la manguera del jardín hasta que estés sometido a mí, ser inferior masculino“.

Por cierto, por si alguno se le va la olla, no pienso que los seres humanos masculinos sean inferiores ni superiores, que hay mucho susceptible por la güesssssssssssssss. Y tampoco quiero fundar la religión de adoración al Dios de la Comida Preparada, lo aclaro antes de que alguien me llame “blasfema”, “hereje” o algo así…

Spain: Spanish Air Army Soldier, arrested for editing and publishing in Internet Jihadist videos

National Police has arrested in Granada two persons for editing and publishing in Internet Jihadist videos calling for terrorist attacks inside Spain. These arrests are the result of the investigations which took place under the General office of Information and the Information Brigade of National Police in Granada.

The arrested are Granada’s local and 23-year-old Christian Peso Ruiz Coello, and Russian-born 23-year-old María Choubina. He is serving under Spanish Air Army in 78th Wing (Armilla Base). Both he and his partner are followers of Islam.

Research has been made under the “Nazari Operation” since June 2008, after some Jihadist videos were detected in Internet in which the Mujahideens were praised and they called openly for terrorist attacks inside Spain, specially inside Granada, according to Interior Ministry press release.

According to the police sources, the two arrested wanted to call on the Muslim world to be favourable to the making of terrorist attacks inside Spain, mixing nostalgic callings to free Al-Andalus and the praising and adoration of the terrorist’s figure.

Some months ago I wrote:

But not only ex-soldiers:

In the Units where there are more Muslim soldiers anew figure has been created: the “vigilants”, who are in charge of making the other fellow Muslims fulfill Islamic commandments about meals and drink.

So this is NO surprise, at least for me…

They made their own compositions from images taken from several radical websites, and afterwards they posted them in public places on the Web, according to the Prosecutor’soffice. They didn’t contain violent acts or training images, just  calls for Global Jihad.

So basically, he was making calls for terrorists to kill the same people he swore to defend… :@

España: Soldado del Ejército del Aire detenido por difundir y editar vídeos de contenido jihadista

que incitaban a cometer atentados contra España :

Los detenidos son Christian Peso Ruiz Coello, natural de Granada y de 23 años, y María Choubina, de la misma edad y nacida en Rusia. Se trata de un soldado del Ejército del Aire, destinado en el ala 78 base de Armilla, y su pareja sentimental, ambos practicantes de la religión del Islam.

Las investigaciones que han dado lugar a la ‘Operación Nazarí’ se remontan a junio de 2008, al detectarse varios vídeos en Internet en los que se exaltaba la figura del ‘muyahidín’ y se realizaba un llamamiento explícito a la comisión de atentados en España, y más concretamente en la ciudad de Granada, según señala una nota divulgada por el Ministerio del Interior.

De acuerdo con las investigaciones policiales, los dos detenidos pretendían con su actividad difundir en Internet mensajes para provocar en el mundo musulmán un estado de ánimo favorable a la comisión de atentados terroristas en España, mezclando llamadas nostálgicas a la liberación de Al Andalus y la exaltación de la figura del terrorista.

Ni será el primero ni el último . Lamentablemente.

elaboraba composiciones propias a partir de imágenes de distintas páginas radicales que editaba, trataba y colgaba en sitios públicos de la Red, según fuentes fiscales. Estas fuentes indicaron que en las composiciones del detenido no aparecían tanto actos violentos o entrenamientos, como llamadas a la Yihad global.

Vamos, lo suyo era: “venid a matar a los mismos españoles a los que yo he jurado defender“.

Pakistan: Talibans ask for Sharia and obtain it

Talibans announced two days ago that they agreed to a cease-fire only if Sharia Law was implemented in the Swat valley. Well, they have obtained it:

THE Pakistan Government and Islamic hardliners have signed an agreement to enforce sharia law in the northwestern Swat valley, a provincial minister says.

“Today an agreement has been signed between the government of NWFP (North West Frontier Province) and Maulana Soofi Mohammed,” provincial information minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said.

“All laws against sharia will be abolished and sharia will be enforced under this justice system.”

The agreement will cover Pakistan’s northwest Malakand area, one of the districts of NWFP and of which the troubled Swat valley is a part.

As Indian blogger Ekawaaz says:

Take my word this is first successful step of Taliban’s in Pakistan and in coming days we will see the some more steps similar to like these from Pakistan government,  as all these truce policies between Taliban’s and Pakistan government will give more strengths to Jihadist and will make Pakistan so called democratic government more weaker.

I agree, and the perspectives in a country with nuclear weapons do not make me smile really…

The campaign against “honor killings” in Pakistan wins supporters among lawyers and legislators who are making pressure to modify the Law and preventing the culprits from evading justice.

Wonder how, if they are supporting the enforcing of Shariah Law in one of its regions, where even the boys and girls have their lies threatened if they go to school.

Just a brief note as a conclusion: Swat valley is the same place where 175 schools have been exploded or burnt in the past months, and where the Talibans have menaced the boys and girls, threatening them with death if they went to school. Two girls were burnt with acid as they were going to school some weeks ago.

Paquistán: los talibanes piden la Sharia y la obtienen

Lamentablemente así ha sido. Hace pocos días habían exigido al Gobierno paquistaní la imposición de la Sharia para dejar la violencia. Y el gobierno se lo ha concedido:

El Gobierno paquistaní llegó este lunes a un acuerdo con los dirigentes islámicos para reintroducir la ley islámica (la ‘sharia’) en el valle del Swat y en otras zonas vecinas del noroeste del país con el objetivo de poner fin a la revuelta de los talibán y pacificar la región, según informaron fuentes oficiales.

“Después de unas negociaciones exitosas, todas las leyes no islámicas relacionadas con el sistema judicial, así como las que se opongan al Corán y a la Sunna, serán canceladas y declaradas nulas“, declaró un portavoz del gobierno de la provincia de Frontera Noroccidental en un comunicado, al término de las negociaciones celebradas en Peshawar, capital de la provincia, con los dirigentes islámicos de Swat. Cualquier acuerdo precisará de la firma del presidente del país, Asif Ali Zardari.

Digamos que esto no es sorprendente en absoluto. Lo sorprendente hubiera sido lo contrario, esto es, que el gobierno paquistaní se hubiera negado.

Pero en un país con armas nucleares y respecto del que Al-Qaeda se fijó el objetivo de que volvieran los talibanes de forma que tuvieran un lugar seguro donde refugiarse y desde donde dirigir la Jihad mundial, esto es más que preocupante. Porque es en este mismo valle en el que han amenazado con matar a todas las niñas (y también a los niños, pero menos) que vayan al colegio y donde han destruido 175 colegios en los últimos meses, ya sea quemándolos o explosionándolos. También fue allí donde unas niñas fueron atacadas con ácido por ir al colegio. Y donde han profanado el cuerpo de un líder opositor después de ganarle. Además, en esta zona es donde el ISI mantiene a varias organizaciones terroristas, como el Lashkar-e-Toiba (aunque no sólamente), responsable del atentado de Bombay del año pasado.

Conclusión: hoy estamos mucho más cerca de que el Estado talibán vuelva a existir. A partir de ahora veremos muchas más cesiones al terror. Como dice el bloguero indio Ekawaaz:

El Papa, sobre el Holocausto: "su negación o el intento de minimizar esta terrible crimen sería intolerable y completamente inaceptable"

Sobre la cuestión ya hablé en su momento. Pero como siempre, si la información favorece a la Iglesia no sale publicada en medios importantes, pero sí lo hace cuando ocurre lo contrario. Así que lo siguiente no ha tenido mucha difusión: La Nueva España – Diario Independiente de Asturias – Internacional – El Papa proclama que negar el Holocausto es intolerable y confirma que viajará a Israel

El Papa Benedicto XVI confirmó ayer que se está preparando para visitar Israel, «tierra santa tanto para los cristianos como para los hebreos», durante un encuentro con los representantes de las mayores organizaciones hebreas americanas. Recientemente el patriarca Latino de Jerusalén, Fouad Twal, informó de que el primer viaje del Pontífice a Tierra Santa será en mayo.

El encuentro de ayer estuvo propiciado por la reciente crisis desatada entre el Vaticano y el mundo judío a raíz del levantamiento de la excomunión al obispo lefebvriano Richard Williamson, que niega el Holocausto. El levantamiento de la excomunión llevó incluso a dirigentes políticos como la canciller alemana, Angela Merkel, a exigir al Papado una rectificación. Finalmente, El Vaticano advirtió a Williamson de que si persiste en su actitud será de nuevo excomulgado.

En este contexto, el Papa condenó cualquier «negación o intento de minimizar este terrible crimen», algo que, dijo, sería «intolerable y completamente inaceptable». Además, aprovechó la ocasión para pedir «perdón» por las ofensas y sufrimientos que ha padecido el pueblo judío a lo largo de la historia, haciendo suyas unas palabras pronunciadas por su predecesor, Juan Pablo II, en el año 2000.

Debe recordarse que el levantamiento de la excomunión no cura el cisma entre Roma y los Lefebristas, tanto como el levantamiento de la excomunicón entre Roma y el patriarcado de Constantinopla (7 diciembre 1965) no marcó el retorno a la unidad entre la Iglesia Católica y las Iglesias Ortodoxas. En ambos casos, como Sandro Magister señala en su web, el levantamiento de la excomunión se intentó sólo como un primer paso para una posible reversión del cisma. Lo que ello significa es que son dos entidades separadas e independientes, y por tanto, Williamson no puede ser expulsado de la Iglesia Católica porque no es un miembro de ella (lo que no está tan mal, en mi opinión personal).

Por otra parte, el obispo tradicionalista Bernard Fellay -uno de aquellos a los que se les levantó la excomunicón el pasado mes- dijo en una entrevista el miércoles que su movimiento no podía aceptar las reformas del siglo XX de la Iglesia Católica. Dijo que su Sociedad de San Pío X no estaba de acuerdo con el documento esencial del Concilio Vaticano II en lo que respecta al respeto a otras religiones. Lo que significa que un término del cisma es teóricamente posible pero no está cerca.

Creo que con esto queda claro que la polémica que se organizó tuvo bastante poco que ver con la realidad de lo que ocurría. Por supuesto, los representantes de las organizaciones judías consideran superada la crisis y que el diálogo con la Iglesia Católica continuará por donde iba antes de esta decisión.

Algo que me alegra sobremanera.

Pope Benedict and the Holocaust

The lifting of excommunication to the Society of Saint Pius X has caused quite an uproar. I myself wrote in the Spanish blog a post critizising the measure because I think that this people are not worth the end of the religious dialogue with Jews. It results that Pope Benedict is of the same advice, in addition to some other factors which are not really underlined sufficiently by the media.

Pope Benedict XVI confirmed that he is setting himself for a visit to Israel, “holy land for both Christians and Hebrew people”, during a meeting with the representants of the main US Jewish organizations. Recently the Latin patriarch of Jerusalem, Fouad Twal, informed that the Pope’s visit to the Holy Land will take place on May.

The meeting was held due to the crisis between the Vatican and the Jewish world after the lifting of the excommunication to the Lefrebvrian bishop Richard Williamson, who denies the Holocaust. The liting of the excommunication caused that even several political leaders like German Angela Merkel, called on the Pope to issue a rectification. Finally, the Vatican cautioned Williamson that if he persists in this attitude he will again be excommunicated.

In this context, the Pope “condemned any denial or intent to minimize this terrible crime”, something which would be “intolerable and completely inacceptable”. Moreover, he also used the occaciones to ask for forgiveness because of the ofenses and sufferings which has been caused to the Jewish people, using the same words pronounced by his predecessor, John Paul II, on 2000.

On February 5 the Vatican stated that bishop Williamson must recant “in an absolutely unequivocal and public way” his positions regarding the Shoah. Which was in my opinion a very good news, but perhaps not the best way to settle the whole question, as Norm Geras pointed out at the time: “[T]he Catholic Church could simply state that Williamson’s beliefs about the Shoah about the Shoah aren’t compatible with membership.” This time, Pope Benedict went further: not only is denying or minimizing the Holocaust not compatible with being a bishop, but also with being a Catholic, as ”unacceptable and intolerable” in itself.
However, it is to be recalled that the lifting of the excommunication did not by any means heal the schism between Rome and Lefebvrists, as much as the lifting of the excommunications between Rome and patriarchate of Constantinople ( December 7, 1965) did not mark a return to unity between the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Churches. In both cases, as Sandro Magister pointed out on his website, the lifting of the excommunication was intended to be the first step toward a possible reversing of the schism. Which means that there are still two separated and independent entities, and therefore Williamson couldn’t in any way be expelled from the Catholic Church, for the simple fact that he is not a member of it (which is not that bad, in my own personal view).

Again it’s proved that we are dealing with a bad reporting from the MSM, which instead of publishing the real story, go only to report the scandals…

Roadside bombs kill 7 in Algeria

Algeria Two roadside bombs have exploded in eastern Algeria, killing seven people hours after the president announced he would run for a third term, the state-run news agency said Friday.

The bombings interrupted a period of relative calm in Algeria, where secular-leaning government forces have been battling a resurgent militant group known as al-Qaida in Islamic North Africa, or AQMI.

The first roadside bomb blew up at Foum El-Metlag, near Tebessa on Algeria’s eastern border with Tunisia, the official APS agency reported Friday, citing security officials. Four members of one family, including two women and a baby, died in the explosion, which took place late Thursday.

The second device exploded when the aid equipments arrived, killing two policemen and a firefighter.

These terrorist attacks do not normally get to the front page of the news, but sadly they underline the existence of the ex-Group for the Preaching and Combat, now Al-Qaeda in North Africa or Al-Qaeda for an Islamic Maghreb.
